REcore Champions Project NexusRE™ as NorthstarMLS Wins Inman Innovator Award

In a significant moment for the real estate industry, NorthstarMLS has been awarded the prestigious Inman Innovator Award, celebrating it as the Most Innovative MLS, Association or Industry Organization. This accolade was announced during the Inman Connect event in San Diego and highlights the exemplary leadership NorthstarMLS exhibited in spearheading the innovative Project NexusRE™.

Project NexusRE has been designed as a revolutionary patent-pending infrastructure initiative that aims to enhance visibility, governance, and control over listing data in the era of artificial intelligence. Positioned at the intersection of technology and real estate, this project underscores the industry's proactive approach to shaping its own future technology landscape.

REcore, which is now leading the development and commercialization of Project NexusRE, expressed its congratulations to NorthstarMLS, seeing the award as a validation of a pivotal industry decision. Tim Dain, the president and CEO of NorthstarMLS, stated, "Project NexusRE is proof of what's possible when the industry builds the infrastructure it needs, on its own terms." This underscores a commitment to developing a real estate ecosystem that supports innovation and responsible governance of data.

The inception of Project NexusRE initiated with NorthstarMLS, while notable contributions from the Fluente AI team at WAV Group helped refine its AI strategy. With the vision firmly established, REcore has embraced the critical role of transforming this innovative concept into a functional product that can serve the entire industry. The aim is to ensure that Project NexusRE becomes a shared resource, benefiting MLSs across the nation instead of being limited to one organization.

At the project’s core, NexusRE serves as a governance layer, helping MLS listing data communicate and operate with numerous applications, platforms, and AI systems. This vital governance ensures that data interactions are managed with clear permissions and consistent oversight, enhancing broker protections and elevating the efficiency of data usage.

"As the real estate industry continues to rely on trusted data, we recognize the urgent need for a system that maintains a consistent approach to understanding and governing data utilization—particularly as AI systems gain traction," remarked Art Carter, CEO of REcore. "NorthstarMLS demonstrated the vision, and now we are tasked with building it into something that every MLS and broker can practically utilize. This recognition reflects that the industry is prepared for this change."

To drive the initiative further, REcore has appointed Jeff Fullbright as the Chief Information and Strategy Officer to lead the development of Project NexusRE. Fullbright arrives with over 20 years of experience at the intersection of scalable systems and AI-driven technology, perfectly suited to guide NexusRE's transformation from concept to operational infrastructure.

Fullbright expressed enthusiasm about the opportunity, stating, "What drew me to REcore is the chance to build, innovate and help shape what's next. Project NexusRE sits exactly where I want to be working—at the intersection of modern architecture, scalable systems, and AI. My focus now is on executing a strong vision into something that can be trusted by the entire industry."

Currently, Project NexusRE is entering the alpha and beta testing phase, with select early partners collaborating to validate crucial use cases, governance models, and deployment approaches ahead of a wider rollout. MLSs, associations, brokers, and industry participants interested in early testing involvement are encouraged to connect.

As the industry stands on the brink of an AI-driven future, Carter emphasized, "The AI era is upon us. The real question is not whether real estate will leverage AI; it’s whether the industry can contribute to shaping the infrastructure that supports it. Moving into the testing phase is how we begin to answer that question."
