CareSource and Community Care, Inc. Unite to Boost Long-Term Care in Wisconsin
CareSource and Community Care, Inc. (CCI) have officially announced their affiliation following the achievement of crucial regulatory approvals, effective April 1, 2026. This partnership, which was initially proposed in September 2024, is set to enhance long-term care services for older adults and those with disabilities across the state.
Scott Markovich, the Executive Vice President of Markets and Products at CareSource, expressed enthusiasm about welcoming CCI into the CareSource family. He highlighted that CCI has a rich history of over 45 years in helping members with long-term care needs, allowing them to live independently and flourish within their communities. He emphasized that their shared commitment to exceptional service and a people-first approach will lead to meaningful improvements in the lives of individuals and families throughout Wisconsin.
The urgency for enhanced long-term care services is underscored by projections indicating that the number of Americans requiring such care is expected to double in the coming five years, amounting to nearly 25 million people needing support to maintain safe and independent lifestyles. This strategic partnership merges the strengths of two mission-driven organizations, aiming to improve health outcomes and refine care delivery for individuals facing complex health challenges.
Community Care has been instrumental in serving over 15,000 adults, particularly those aged 55 and older and individuals with disabilities aged 18 and older. They cater to participants in Wisconsin's three primary long-term care programs: Family Care, Family Care Partnership, and the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE). CCI operates certified adult day and health centers in key locations across Milwaukee, Racine, and Waukesha, providing a range of services that include home and community support, care coordination, and personal care assistance.
Kenneth Munson, the CEO of Community Care, reaffirmed the organization's commitment to maintaining high-quality, community-centered care for their members following this merger. Munson stated, “We are proud to become part of a member-centered organization with an excellent track record in delivering comprehensive whole-person care and an unwavering commitment to operational excellence and innovation.”
This collaboration marks CCI as the second entity in Wisconsin to join CareSource's growing family of companies, following the earlier affiliation with Common Ground Healthcare Cooperative on January 1, 2025. CareSource continues to demonstrate its commitment to delivering thorough, member-focused care to the citizens of Wisconsin.
Importantly, CCI will retain its headquarters and workforce within Wisconsin, ensuring that member coverage will remain uninterrupted during this transition phase.
