OpenText's Key Insights on AI and Cybersecurity for 2026

Embracing a New Era at OpenText for 2026

As we step into 2026, OpenText extends warm wishes for a prosperous New Year to all. The past year, 2025, marked a pivotal shift in how businesses integrate generative AI and agent-based AI into their operations. With a remarkable increase in organizations transitioning from trial implementations to stable integration within their workflows, we find ourselves in an era where data's importance is unparalleled. In this competitive landscape driven by AI capabilities, the quality of learning data has become a crucial asset for organizations, cementing its status as one of the most valuable resources.

In addition to the robust growth in AI applications, we must also address the rising tide of cyber threats that have grown more sophisticated, largely fueled by the misuse of AI. The increase in ransomware attacks, phishing schemes, insider threats, and supply chain vulnerabilities pose significant risks to business continuity. As the value of data escalates, the imperative for enhanced cybersecurity measures has become more critical than ever. Organizations now face the challenge of not only leveraging AI aggressively but also ensuring comprehensive data protection, identity management, and AI security.

To meet the dual challenges of accelerating data utilization and escalating security risks, OpenText significantly intensified its efforts surrounding data usage, AI, and security throughout the past year. Notably, in February, we launched the OpenText Core Threat Detection and Response (TDR) platform, utilizing AI to establish a robust defense against insider threats, external attacks, and ransomware. This initiative aims to enhance organizational resilience while reducing costs and risk.

In November, we presented the OpenText AI Data Platform (AIDP), designed to create reliable information frameworks for safe implementation of AI agents. This platform facilitates the efficient harnessing of AI while ensuring accurate results. The AIDP can manage various types of enterprise data, including documents, transactions, IT tickets, and security information, and features an open architecture that supports multi-cloud, multi-model, and multi-application environments.

The introduction of AIDP includes several core components:
  • - Aviator Studio: A no-code/low-code development environment that enables the creation and operation of AI agents.
  • - Knowledge Discovery: Transforming enterprise information, including unstructured data, into knowledge graphs, thereby enhancing knowledge utilization.
  • - Data Compliance: Strengthening governance and security in alignment with the demands of the AI era.

Through these solutions, enterprises can establish a foundation for the safe and governed optimization of AI across their entire organization. This marks a crucial step toward the large-scale adoption of AI with confidence.

In the year ahead, we aim to further evolve these values, collaborating with customers and partners to cultivate the next generation of information utilization frameworks. As an initial step, we are excited to announce the OpenText Summit Japan 2026 scheduled for February 26, where we will share the latest insights and innovative solutions tailored for our clients in Japan. This in-person event promises valuable opportunities for co-creation and skill-building essential for thriving in the AI-driven landscape.

We hope that 2026 brings hope and productivity to everyone, and we appreciate your continued support of OpenText products and OpenText Japan.
