New Dog-Friendly Resort Set to Open in Japan's Nagano Prefecture by Oedo Onsen Monogatari

New Dog-Friendly Getaway in Nagano

Oedo Onsen Monogatari Group is thrilled to announce the opening of its newest dog-friendly accommodation, the Wanwan Resort Shinshu Ueda, set to launch on July 11, 2025. Reservations for this exciting new property will be accepted starting May 8, 2025. This latest addition brings the total number of dog-friendly facilities in the Oedo Onsen Monogatari portfolio to three.

Nestled in the idyllic Shinshu area of Kakegawa Onsen, known for its healing hot springs and surrounded by nature, the Wanwan Resort will transform the Sakura Hall of the existing Kakegawa property into a dog-friendly haven. Here, visitors can enjoy quality time with their pets in the comfort of their own rooms while indulging in a variety of services tailored specifically for dogs.

Exceptional Features

Guest Rooms

All guest rooms will now welcome dogs, and guests can select from either Japanese tatami rooms or Western-style rooms according to their preference. To ensure that dogs have a comfortable stay, the flooring will be updated, and state-of-the-art air purification and deodorization systems will be installed. Additionally, thoughtful amenities for dogs will be provided, ensuring their well-being and comfort during their stay.

Indoor Facilities

To make every moment enjoyable, the resort will boast a new expansive indoor dog run of approximately 180㎡, allowing pets to play freely even on rainy days. A self-grooming area will also be added. After a stroll, guests will find a dedicated dog washing area at the entrance, ensuring that pets are welcomed back to the resort in comfort and style. On sunny days, we encourage guests to take leisurely walks around the scenic landscapes and quaint townscape of Kakegawa Onsen, allowing both owners and their pets to soak in the tranquility of nature.

Dining Experience

Dining will also be a highlight of the stay, as the resort’s restaurant is being revamped to facilitate a pet-friendly environment. Guests can relish a buffet of Oedo Onsen Monogatari's signature dishes while enjoying the presence of their dogs. For pets, a special menu featuring meals such as hamburger plates and pork chops, along with delicious desserts, will be available for order (at an additional cost).

Private Baths

For those who wish to relax alongside their furry companions, the resort will introduce dog-exclusive private baths. This setup will allow pet owners to unwind in a serene atmosphere without needing to leave their dogs behind (service available at an extra charge).

Photo Opportunities

Lastly, dedicated photo spots will be set up throughout the resort, encouraging guests to capture lasting memories with their beloved pets. At Wanwan Resort Shinshu Ueda, families can enjoy unforgettable trips together, with their dogs always by their side.
