Tamarack Resort Welcomes the 2025-2026 Ski Season
Tamarack Resort is excited to announce its opening for the much-anticipated 2025-2026 winter season on December 22, following a successful snowmaking effort and the arrival of heavy snowfall. Guests can look forward to a specially organized early-season lift and terrain plan that enhances access across the beautiful resort.
A Day on the Slopes
The opening day will feature access to the upper mountain, showcasing Tamarack's signature alpine experience, weather permitting. The Resort plans to operate three primary lifts—Discovery Chair, Tamarack Express, and Summit Express—on the grand opening day.
Daily lift operations are set to run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with more terrain and lift access being made available as conditions improve. The Mid-Mountain Lodge will also welcome guests from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., offering a cozy space to enjoy delicious food and beverages, alongside stunning views.
Kara Finley, the Resort's COO, expressed her excitement about the upcoming season: "We are thrilled to be opening! Our mountain operations team is working hard to get and keep as much terrain open as possible. We know how special the holiday season is for our guests, and we aim to deliver a memorable experience for everyone who visits our mountain."
New Ski Runs and Terrain Expansion
This season marks a significant enhancement, as the resort introduces two new ski runs spanning around 50 acres of expanded terrain. This addition is part of ongoing post-fire recovery efforts following the Rock Fire, aiming to promote better forest health and enhance skiing conditions.
Due to limited early-season snowfall, skiing on the upper mountain will be available via the Summit Express, and guests will need to download on the Tamarack Express. This approach ensures guests can enjoy safe skiing while crews continue preparing additional terrain as snowfall conditions evolve. For added convenience, the resort will also offer Dial-A-Ride services throughout the day to assist guests traveling to the Tamarack Express from base-area parking and lodging.
Winter Adventures Await
Once the mountain is fully operational, Tamarack Resort features an expansive 1,610 acres of skiable terrain, 57 named runs, three thrilling terrain parks, and a vertical drop of 2,800 feet that rises to a breathtaking 7,700-foot summit. The resort boasts an impressive annual average of 300 inches of snowfall, catering to all skill levels: approximately 17% beginner, 45% intermediate, and 38% advanced runs.
In addition to skiing, guests can immerse themselves in a full winter experience that includes alpine skiing, Nordic skiing, snowshoeing, fat-tire biking, and specialized lessons through the Tamarack Sports School. Seasonal events that highlight the resort’s Enchanted Holidays programming will surely add enchantment to the winter season.
