GAC Unveils Innovative AION UT and AION V Electric Models in Italy

GAC Launches AION UT and AION V in Italy

On October 8, GAC made waves in the automotive industry with the launch of its latest electric models, the AION UT and AION V, at an event in Milan's Superstudio Più. This marks a significant step in expanding GAC's European operations, emphasizing local design, assembly, and after-sales service.

Compact Design Meets Driver Convenience

The AION UT is a sleek electric hatchback that boasts a wheelbase of 2,750 mm and offers an impressive WLTP range of up to 430 km, aimed at urban drivers seeking efficiency without compromising on space. Its compact size is matched by an interior designed with passenger comfort and accessibility in mind, accommodating everyday commuting needs.

On the other hand, the AION V represents GAC's venture into the SUV segment, providing a fully electric option with a range of up to 510 km. Notable features include an integrated heat pump for optimized energy use, adjustable rear seating, and a versatile trunk with three levels for enhanced storage. These attributes cater to families and outdoor enthusiasts alike, reinforcing GAC's commitment to versatility in its electric offerings.

A Celebration of Design and Performance

The launch event attracted over 40 journalists and industry representatives, marking a significant moment for GAC in the European market. The exhibition themed "From Concept to Reality" showcased a series of vehicle prototypes developed by GAC Advanced Design Milan over the years, illustrating the creative journey behind these latest models. Meanwhile, more than 30 journalists took part in a test drive that highlighted the AION UT's agility in urban conditions and the AION V’s robust performance in a blend of city and suburban landscapes, allowing attendees to get a real feel for the vehicles in everyday settings.

Commitment to Local Operations

GAC's launch of the AION UT and AION V aligns with its strategy "In Europe, for Europe." The company partners with Magna for local vehicle assembly conducted in Austria, while also collaborating with European suppliers like Bosch and Continental for essential components. This local approach not only strengthens GAC's manufacturing capabilities in the region but also enhances its service delivery, underlined by a European spare parts and logistics center in Rotterdam, Netherlands. GAC boasts a parts availability rate exceeding 95%, ensuring swift deliveries across Europe within 36 hours.

Expanding Global Reach

The Italian launch served as a vital demonstration of GAC’s international business model. With products available in 121 countries and regions, GAC exported over 172,000 vehicles within the first eight months of 2026, signifying a remarkable 136% increase compared to the previous year. These figures highlight GAC's strengthening presence in global markets and its dedication to expanding its electric vehicle lineup.
