Wesco International Enhances Data Center Management Capabilities with Ascent Acquisition
Wesco International Completes Acquisition of Ascent
Wesco International (NYSE: WCC) recently announced the conclusion of its acquisition of Ascent, a premier provider of data center facility management services, based in St. Louis, Missouri. This strategic move, first revealed to the public on October 31, is set to significantly bolster Wesco’s capabilities in the data center solutions marketplace.
Ascent specializes in offering exceptional data center facility and property management services, demonstrating remarkable growth with trailing twelve-month sales reaching $115 million. This achievement is complemented by an impressive compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of over 30% in sales over the past three years. With a dedicated workforce of more than 300 employees across the U.S. and Canada, Ascent supplies a comprehensive array of services including staffing, facility maintenance, critical systems repairs, and 24x7 emergency services. Additionally, they manage third-party maintenance workflows and provide advanced liquid cooling solutions — crucial assets for modern data center operations.
A standout feature of Ascent's offerings is their proprietary Navigator platform. This platform integrates client services into a user-friendly dashboard, designed to streamline the management of critical infrastructure and facilities, thus enhancing operational efficiency for clients.
John Engel, Chairman, President, and CEO of Wesco, stated, "Wesco continues to expand our leading data center solutions offering. With Ascent's expertise in engineering, design-build consultations, and daily site operations, we are extending our suite of capabilities within the data center lifecycle."
The acquisition is expected to not only enhance Wesco’s technical capabilities but also to expand its end-to-end service offerings in the data center sector. Bill Geary, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Wesco’s Communications and Security Solutions, expressed excitement about integrating Ascent’s skilled team into Wesco’s network. He remarked, "We are delighted to welcome Ascent’s talented team to Wesco. Their expertise enriches our portfolio, providing advanced solutions like liquid cooling, and we look forward to delivering greater efficiency and results for our customers through collaboration with contractors and suppliers."
