Tampa General Hospital Expands Services with New Hyde Park Facility in Collaboration with USF Health

Tampa General Hospital Expands Healthcare Services in Hyde Park

Tampa General Hospital (TGH) is proud to announce the acquisition of a new property in Hyde Park, set to become the future home of the USF Health Pamela Muma Women's Health Center and the Chivukula Men's Center. This initiative is made possible by the generous donation of Dr. Jagadamba and Krishna Chivukula to the TGH Foundation and reflects TGH's and the University of South Florida’s commitment to enhance access to exceptional healthcare services in the Tampa Bay area.

A Vision for Comprehensive Care

This new site is part of a broader effort to transform the Tampa Medical Research District (TMRD) into a leading locale for healthcare innovation. John Couris, president and CEO of Tampa General, shared, "This transition signifies our shared dedication to delivering outstanding care and personalized experiences for our patients. With the expansion of our concierge services and the introduction of a dedicated men's center, we aim to meet the diverse healthcare needs of our community."

Charles J. Lockwood, MD, MHCM, executive vice president of USF Health and dean of the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine, echoed this sentiment: "The relocation of the Pamela Muma Women's Health Center allows us to deepen our commitment to provide high-quality, comprehensive care tailored to both women and men. This will not only streamline services but also enhance the patient experience."

Enhanced Patient-Centered Services

The Hyde Park facility is positioned to offer an array of specialized services aimed at improving patient outcomes. Key offerings include:
  • - Preventive Care and Wellness Programs: The state-of-the-art clinic will provide seamlessly coordinated primary and preventive health services, proactive health assessments, and lifestyle coaching designed to enhance overall well-being.
  • - Personalized Healthcare Navigation: Patients will benefit from 24/7 access to a network of healthcare providers, ensuring comprehensive treatment plans and facilitating navigation through complicated healthcare journeys.
  • - Dedicated Wellness Services: The Hyde Park center will leverage advanced technology to provide imaging services specifically for members, as well as integrative wellness services like acupuncture and massage.

Jessica Battersby, director of Executive Wellness and Concierge Medicine at USF Health, emphasized the importance of this expansion. "At USF Health, we are dedicated to offering the highest level of personalized care. Our collaboration with TGH enables us to create a welcoming environment conducive to the needs of the women and men we serve."

A Growing Hub for Healthcare Innovation

The Tampa Medical Research District is rapidly establishing itself as a center for healthcare innovation, attracting leading professionals in healthcare, research, and education. With TGH and the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine at its core, the TMRD fosters a collaborative environment that empowers healthcare providers to enhance patient care and medical research.

Expected to open in Fall 2026, the new facilities at 509 Hyde Park Ave aim to solidify Tampa Bay’s reputation as a destination for cutting-edge healthcare services. Tampa General Hospital, noted for its comprehensive trauma care and as one of the largest hospitals in the U.S., continues to be a beacon of healthcare excellence, serving as a safety net for the community while striving for innovative advances in medicine.

Incorporating academics from the USF Health network, the new women's and men's health centers represent a significant step in ensuring that all residents of Tampa Bay have access to premier healthcare services.
