Absolute Software Expands Partnership with IIJ for Enhanced Cybersecurity Solutions

Expanding Secure Web Solutions: Absolute Software and IIJ Partnership

In a significant move to bolster corporate cyber resilience, Absolute Software Corporation has announced the extension of its collaboration with Internet Initiative Japan Inc. (IIJ), Japan's leading internet access and comprehensive network solutions provider. As a result, Absolute's Secure Web Gateway (SWG) will now serve as an "SSE add-on" to IIJ's corporate remote access service, the "IIJ Flex Mobility Service/ZTNA."

This strategic integration allows users of IIJ's Flex Mobility Service/ZTNA to enjoy secure and seamless internet access, regardless of location. The rising trend of remote work and increasing cloud utilization have rendered traditional perimeter security less effective against emerging threats. Here, the cloud-based SWG becomes an invaluable solution, merging the robust networking capabilities of IIJ with the advanced security technology of Absolute. This collaboration enables a flexible and reliable web access environment for numerous organizations.

The Absolute Secure Web Gateway Service works in tandem with the Ericom security engine, providing comprehensive protections through multiple antivirus scans, remote browser isolation (RBI), content disarm and reconstruction (CDR), and data loss prevention (DLP) via cloud technologies. By inspecting web content within a cloud container before it reaches users' web browsers, organizations can mitigate risks while enhancing browsing security without interrupting access to links or downloads.

The significant advantages of this collaboration include:

1. Enhanced Visibility of User Activity and Threat Situations: Real-time visualization of users' web access patterns, application usage trends, and detection histories enables security teams to monitor organizational risk levels and respond swiftly to potential threats.

2. Improved Security and Compliance: The collaboration greatly reduces risks associated with the intentional or accidental upload of sensitive information, thereby preventing possible data loss or leakage.

3. Advanced Malware Defense: The system assesses data across web pages, files, software, and applications, detecting and eliminating malware threats - including zero-day threats - before they can infiltrate endpoints or networks.

Yoshihiro Yoshikawa, Deputy General Manager of IIJ's Network & Security Headquarters, expressed enthusiasm about the expansion of their partnership with Absolute Software, stating, "We are thrilled to add the powerful Secure Web Gateway security feature to the IIJ Flex Mobility Service/ZTNA. As remote work accelerates, we ensure our customers can safely access internet resources, both in and out of the office. IIJ will continue to support our client's businesses by merging high-quality networks with cutting-edge security technology."

Similarly, Hiroki Inatomi, Country Manager at Absolute Software, commented, "We are honored to strengthen our strategic partnership with IIJ. Integrating Absolute SWG services into the IIJ Flex Mobility Service enables us to provide comprehensive solutions that enhance security while boosting user productivity. With our advanced cloud-based security services, we aim to enhance cyber resilience amid hybrid work environments."

Pricing for the IIJ Flex Mobility Service/ZTNA SSE add-on varies based on the number of devices and optional configurations. For details, please contact IIJ.
