The 7th CIIE Concludes Successfully: Highlights and Achievements in Numbers

The 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE), which took place from November 5 to 10 in Shanghai, has concluded successfully, marking a significant milestone in international trade. This year, the event achieved unprecedented participation and commercial opportunities, with provisional agreements totaling $80.01 billion, representing a 2% increase from the previous year.

With a growing reputation as a global platform for trade collaboration, the CIIE invited 77 countries and international organizations to bring a diverse range of cultures, identities, and technologies to its full national exhibition. Among the highlights were over 3,496 companies from 129 countries and regions, including 1,585 from 104 countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative and 132 exhibitors from 35 least developed countries. This extensive participation illustrates the CIIE's vital role in fostering international cooperation.

An array of innovations was presented at the expo, with the special ‘Innovation Incubation’ section showcasing 360 innovative projects from 34 countries and regions, aimed at supporting the growth of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and startups. Multinational corporations unveiled 450 new products and services, generating significant demand with over 100 global launches and 40 Asian premieres.

The event also featured the Hongqiao International Economic Forum (HQF), which attracted more than 8,600 registrations and gathered over 300 experts from various fields, alongside political, business, and academic leaders. This year's HQF published the World Opening Report for 2024 and a global openness index, emphasizing the importance of international cooperation and engagement.

As the CIIE concluded on a high note, it clearly affirmed its role as a significant platform for promoting global cooperation. With preparations already underway for the 8th CIIE, the event continues to expand opportunities for trade and economic cooperation on a global scale, warmly inviting countries and businesses worldwide to participate.
