A fresh survey by Omnisend indicates that a startling 50% of consumers are feeling added stress regarding holiday hosting due to these increasing costs. While festive traditions are cherished, their financial implications are creating a dilemma for many.
The Financial Impact: A Shift in Spending Habits
This year, an estimated 78% of Americans acknowledge that higher prices will significantly impact their holiday spending decisions. On average, consumers plan to spend about $950 this season, primarily directed towards gifts and hosting provisions, culminating in a national total of approximately $256.3 billion in holiday expenditures. In this economic landscape, nearly half of the respondents (44%) anticipate entering the new year with debt, highlighting the financial pressures that accompany the celebration of traditions.
