On October 16, 2025, Vector Solutions, a prominent platform dedicated to enhancing student success and institutional performance in higher education, unveiled the recipients of the prestigious Campus Prevention Network (CPN) Seal of Prevention™ for the year 2025. This accolade honors 452 higher education institutions that have made significant strides in creating safe and thriving campus environments through innovative and data-driven digital prevention programs.
The CPN Seal of Prevention™ serves to highlight institutions that prioritize not only student wellness and success but also exhibit consistent, measurable impacts on their campuses year after year. Rob Buelow, General Manager of Education at Vector Solutions, emphasized the importance of this recognition, stating, "The CPN Seal of Prevention™ acknowledges schools that lead in enhancing student wellness and demonstrating sustained impact over the years." He also noted that 151 of the recognized institutions have consistently earned this seal since 2020, showcasing their long-term commitment to establishing empowering campus atmospheres.
This year’s recipients of the CPN Seal of Prevention™ are noted for their comprehensive digital programs addressing critical issues, including mental health, sexual assault, substance misuse, and discrimination. Research conducted by Vector Solutions suggests that schools awarded the Seal are associated with improved student outcomes. For instance, Seal recipients experience an average first-year retention rate that is 8.3% higher compared to institutions without the Seal. Additionally, the four-year graduation rates of these institutions are 9.6% better on average, highlighting the value of robust prevention programs in supporting student pathways to success.
Dr. Theresa Lucas, Dean of Student Affairs at Otis College of Art and Design, expressed pride in their achievement, saying, "Earning the CPN Seal of Prevention™ reaffirms our dedication to nurturing a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment. At Otis College, our preventive measures are foundational for student success and creativity.”
Spanning across 46 states and including community colleges to many of the top-ranked institutions recognized by U.S. News & World Report, this diverse group of Seal recipients was rigorously evaluated based on evidence-based prevention principles shaped by over twenty years of research and practice. A comprehensive list of the 2025 Seal awardees is publicly available.
Lynne Cornelius, Associate Dean of Students and Director of Prevention Programs at Drake University, praised the benefits of the Campus Prevention Network, stating, "This resource has enabled us to educate a vast number of students on prevention topics, reinforcing our commitment to maintaining a safe and welcoming campus for all."
Established in 2020, the CPN Seal of Prevention™ honors higher education institutions that lead in ensuring student success through effective digital prevention programming. This accolade not only acknowledges these institutions' efforts but also serves as a vital consideration for students and parents during the college selection process.
