Zoomlion Showcases Innovative Green Mining Solutions at Global Expo 2026
On May 16, 2026, Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science & Technology Co., Ltd., held its Global Mining Machinery Expo at its Earthmoving Machinery Park in Changsha, China. This event attracted over 500 attendees, including customers and industry partners from nearly 30 countries and regions. The expo highlighted Zoomlion's commitment to sustainable mining practices and showcased its latest advancements in mining machinery technologies.
Innovative Machinery for Sustainable Mining
At the heart of the exhibition were three flagship models exemplifying Zoomlion's strategic focus on heavy-duty machinery for open-pit mines, electric and hybrid systems for eco-friendly operations, and autonomous transport and management systems. Notably, the exhibition featured:
- - The ZWL360 Hybrid Wheel Loader, boasting a rated load capacity of 36 tons and a combined output of 1495 kilowatts. This model is claimed to be the world's largest hybrid wheel loader, demonstrating a more than 15% reduction in energy consumption compared to traditional machines.
- - The ZTE450HEV Mining Truck, capable of transporting a payload of 240 tons, utilizes a diesel-electric powertrain complemented by energy recovery systems.
- - The ZE1650G Excavator, equipped with parallel-operating QSM15 engines, is designed for operation in challenging conditions.
Zoomlion also displayed over 40 products and components featuring new energy technologies, including the
ZT160HEV Hybrid Mining Truck and the fully electric
ZT165EV Mining Truck. Both models are already operational in multiple mines worldwide, achieving over 8000 operational hours in some cases.
Advancements in Green Technologies
The expo introduced several proprietary green technologies developed by Zoomlion. One such system is the
ZM-i Adaptive Super-Energy Management System, which provides energy to hybrid machines through a genuine hybrid architecture. This allows both the diesel and electric motors to work simultaneously under high load conditions rather than alternating, which resulted in a 20% reduction in fuel consumption and 11.2% improvement in operational efficiency during tests.
Another highlight was the presentation of autonomous transport systems. Zoomlion has deployed nearly 100 driverless mining trucks across various sites in China, equipped to navigate autonomously, evade obstacles, and work in coordination with excavators. Live demonstrations at the expo showcased the capabilities of the
ZE985G Remote-Controlled Excavator along with the electric
ZT118EV Mining Truck and hybrid
ZT160HEV, effectively demonstrating a coordinated operation involving excavation, loading, and transport.
Smart Software Solutions
Additionally, Zoomlion unveiled two software platforms: the
Mine Smart Supervision Platform 2.0 and the
Mine Operation Diagnosis Platform 2.0, which collect machine data in the cloud for real-time monitoring, error prediction, and maintenance tracking. Another innovation revealed was an intelligent evaluation system for mines that analyzes site conditions, models energy consumption, and recommends mine-specific machine configurations. This system has already been implemented in over 150 mines, generating more than 200 tailored project plans.
Yuan Ye, the head of Zoomlion's division, emphasized the company's ongoing commitment to invest in its technological foundations. He noted that these investments are aimed at driving innovation and fostering deeper partnerships with customers around the globe.
The Global Mining Machinery Expo 2026 not only showcased Zoomlion's technological prowess but also its dedication to promoting environmentally conscious mining practices and innovative solutions within the industry.
