Dentsu Research Enhances Minnect AI Assist for Local Governments with New Features

Dentsu Research Unveils Upgraded Minnect AI Assist for Local Governments

Dentsu Research, headquartered in Minato, Tokyo, is set to roll out an enhanced version of its generative AI service, Minnect AI Assist, aimed at supporting local governments, starting July 1, 2025. This updated version comes with significant upgrades to its RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) feature, aiming to bolster the efficiency of administrative tasks while ensuring user privacy and convenience.

Key Features of the Updated Minnect AI Assist

The latest iteration of Minnect AI Assist boasts a series of enhancements designed to make the AI more effective and secure for local government use. The primary features include:

1. Increased Index Limits for RAG Functionality
The new version expands the upper limit of indexed documents for the RAG function from three to ten. This change, made possible by using a decentralized database, allows for a broader base of information from which the AI can generate responses.

2. Enhanced Privacy Features
The upgrade introduces a powerful feature for detecting and masking personally identifiable information (PII) in generated outputs, including names, addresses, and phone numbers. This new capability reduces the risk of unintended disclosure when generating responses based on multimodal data, such as images and graphs.

3. Group Management and Shared Chat Functionality
Users now have the ability to create groups within Minnect AI Assist, enabling better user management at the group level. This improvement allows team members to share AI-generated dialogue relevant to their group.

4. Strengthened Multimodal Functionality
Previously exclusive to the Gemini model, the new update enables file attachments in chats using both the Gemini and GPT models. Notably, the compatibility with widely used Word documents enhances its utility for governmental tasks.

5. Internet Grounding Capability
To minimize the risk of generating hallucinated (false) information, the AI can now utilize live internet searches while generating responses. This feature ensures that the AI draws upon up-to-date information safely and securely within the LGWAN environment.

6. Customizable Default Models
Users can set default large language models (LLMs) based on their individual needs, avoiding the unintentional use of either lesser-performing or overly expensive models.

7. Visualization of Usage Metrics
The updated version includes a timeline graph showcasing the usage of text over time, helping organizations monitor engagement at a glance.

Expanded Support Services

In addition to enhancing features, this latest version also brings about improved support services aimed at facilitating the adoption of Minnect AI Assist. New strategies are being implemented to assist users who may not have fully engaged with the system yet or who have used it only temporarily. This includes promotional materials, the distribution of golden prompt data, and the establishment of a user community where local governments can share experiences and applications of the tool.

Dentsu Research, which initiated its Smart Society Center in 2021, continues to support digital transformation (DX) and the development of smart city solutions. The firm is committed to further enriching the functionality of the Minnect series, leveraging its knowledge and experience to solve local governmental challenges.
