Enjoy Morning Coffee While Listening to News: Special Experience Campaign from Doutor Coffee Shop

Enjoy Morning Coffee with the Latest News

Doutor Coffee, in collaboration with audiobook.jp, is excited to announce a unique event called the ‘Listen to Nikkei’ campaign. This engaging initiative allows coffee lovers to enjoy Japan’s daily financial news while sipping their favorite brew at select Doutor locations across the country. The campaign will run from September 1 to November 30, 2026, in 130 participating Doutor Coffee shops and Excelsior Caffe.

What is the ‘Listen to Nikkei’ Campaign?

During the campaign period, customers visiting participating cafes can scan a QR code printed on their receipt or displayed at their table. By registering their email address, they can enjoy up to four free accesses to the latest morning news segment from the Nihon Keizai Shimbun, delivered via the ‘Listen to Nikkei’ service. This audio format allows you to catch up on significant news stories efficiently, typically under 20 minutes, without missing out on your busy schedule.

Early risers often find themselves in a rush, balancing various tasks, so incorporating news into their morning routine can be a game-changer. The ‘Listen to Nikkei’ initiative was inspired by the growing need for busy professionals to consume information quickly while going about their morning routines.

Campaign Background

The inspiration behind this campaign stems from the popular ‘Listen to Nikkei’ service available on audiobook.jp, created by the Nikkei Radio Corporation, which delivers essential news for listeners every weekday at 6 AM. With an increasing number of users tuning in during morning hours, especially between 6 and 8 AM, this collaboration offers a fresh take on integrating news consumption into the daily coffee ritual. This is the first time that audiobook.jp and Doutor Coffee have worked together, aiming to enrich mornings for their customers.

The campaign has broad appeal, especially for business professionals who frequently visit Doutor shops before the workday begins. By offering listeners a chance to absorb the day’s vital news, it enhances their mornings, making it not just an individual experience but a communal one among fellow coffee patrons.

How to Participate

To access the program, customers need to:
1. Visit a participating Doutor Coffee or Excelsior Caffe.
2. Look for the QR codes on the receipts or on table stickers.
3. Scan the QR code to be redirected to the campaign site.
4. Register with an email address to enjoy the latest news segments up to four times within a month.

Please note that the ‘Listen to Nikkei’ segments are released every weekday at 6 AM, and there are breaks during weekends and holidays, including September 14th, October 13th, and November 9th.
