The Brattle Group Expands Its Infrastructure Practice
The Brattle Group, a prominent economic consulting firm, is excited to reveal the continued growth of its cross-sector infrastructure practice. This expansion comes with the strategic recruitment of two distinguished experts: Luigi de Francisci and Paolo Prestininzi. Their inclusion is set to broaden the expertise and capabilities of the team, enhancing support for clients dealing with complex infrastructure issues.
Dr. Lucia Bazzucchi, director at Brattle and head of the infrastructure practice, expressed her enthusiasm about the new team members. "We are thrilled to welcome Luigi and Paolo, both of whom bring extensive expertise in regulation and industry to our growing team," she stated. This addition is expected to bolster Brattle's ability to assist clients across various infrastructure projects and challenges, which range from regulatory reform and market design to contentious disputes and operational or investment analysis.
The Experts Joining Brattle
Luigi de Francisci is a regulatory and legal expert with over 30 years of experience in the energy and utility sectors in Italy. His impressive career includes leadership roles at Gestore della Trasmissione Nazionale (GRTN), Italy's national grid operator, as well as Terna S.p.A., Europe’s largest independent electricity transmission operator. Recently, he served at ACEA, one of Italy's largest multi-utility companies. Throughout his career, de Francisci has actively collaborated with numerous national and international regulatory agencies and represented Italian infrastructure institutions in European forums. His professional engagements also span various boards, including the board of the European Network of Transmission System Operators (ENTSO-E). His areas of expertise cover tariffs, regulatory compliance, infrastructure regulation, and contract settlements.
Paolo Prestininzi, a seasoned corporate finance expert, brings rich experience consulting for investors and infrastructure operators on regulatory matters, asset valuation, and restructuring strategies. He has been involved in multiple complex international infrastructure projects throughout their transaction lifecycle—from pre-operation financing to post-operation integrations and business restructurings. Prestininzi previously worked in a Big Four accounting firm and for a leading international infrastructure operator, focusing on airports, highways, and fiber optics networks.
