Niconico Super Conference Takes a Step Towards Global Expansion
The Niconico Super Conference, one of Japan's largest cultural events, hosted by Dwango Corporation, is making its international debut. In collaboration with SOZO Pte Ltd, the organizer of Southeast Asia's most prominent pop culture event, the Anime Festival Asia (AFA), Niconico will participate in AFA Singapore 2025. This event is set to take place at the Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre from November 28 to 30, 2025. The Niconico Super Conference will sponsor the AFA Next Stage, bringing Japanese culture to new audiences in Southeast Asia.
The partnership is part of the international creator collaboration program called 'Asia Creators Cross,' which reimagines Niconico's domestic 'Creator Cross' initiative on a global scale. This program aims to facilitate exchanges between Japanese and international creators, expanding opportunities for showcasing and collaborating on creative works.
What to Expect at AFA Singapore 2025
At the AFA Next Stage, fans will witness exciting performances that connect local audiences with Japanese culture. The event features highlights such as the incredibly popular 'Bon Odori' dance and DJ sets from acclaimed Vocaloid producers. The 'Bon Odori' will be transformed into a new, electrifying experience dubbed 'Cho-BON Dance Japan powered by Dwango,' inviting attendees to join in the celebration by dancing along to beloved anime songs and Vocaloid tracks. This immersive and participatory event is directed by renowned Japanese dance choreographer, Uko Takafuji, who has previously worked on the Niconico Super Conference.
Moreover, the DJ live performances will feature three prominent Vocaloid producers: Satapan P, Kuriyama Yuri, and Hachioji P, who are well recognized in both Japanese and international circles for their contributions to music and culture. Attendees can also look forward to merchandise sales featuring their favorite artists.
In addition to the live performances, AFA Singapore 2025 will host the 'JAPAN ILLUSTRATION SHOWCASE,' highlighting the work of various talented illustrators. Featured artists include Tamimoon, Keiko, Terada Tera, and Neco, showcasing limited edition prints and merchandise, alongside catalogs from 50 illustrious Japanese illustrators, thus promoting Japan's rich illustration culture.
