On April 15, 2025, the 137th China Import and Export Fair, popularly known as the Canton Fair, officially opened in Guangzhou, attracting a wealth of attention on a global scale. This renowned annual event is one of the largest trade fairs in the world, and its current edition promises an exciting array of exhibitions and opportunities for commerce.

The fair will run from April 15 to May 5, encompassing three distinct phases, each showcasing different themes: "Advanced Manufacturing," "Quality Home Life," and "Better Living." This year's edition introduces 55 exhibition sections and 172 product zones, including new areas focused on service robots and integrated housing solutions. The incorporation of a service robot zone highlights the ongoing technological advancements being made in various industries, promising to fascinate visitors and exhibitors alike.

Under a hybrid model, the Canton Fair continues to integrate online platforms, ensuring availability year-round and enhancing accessibility for international buyers. Optimized digital functionalities and improved services are designed to create fresh business opportunities while aiming to stabilize and enhance the quality of China's foreign trade.

During the inaugural ceremony, Zhang Sihong, the Deputy Director of the China Foreign Trade Center, expressed his warm welcome to international guests, underscoring the Canton Fair's traditional role as a bridge for global cooperation. "Once again, the Canton Fair opens its arms to friends from around the world. At this spectacular event, we gather to pursue shared success and mutual benefits," he stated.

As of April 13, more than 200,000 international buyers from 215 countries and regions had pre-registered for the fair. On the first day, the initial phase, themed around "Advanced Manufacturing," attracted a significant turnout with its expansive exhibition space of 520,000 square meters. A key highlight was the new Service Robots Zone located in the Friendship Hall of Area D, where attendees could witness demonstrations of various robots, including robotic dogs, industrial exoskeletons, and autonomous navigation robots.

From April 15 to 19, the first phase of the Fair will showcase China's robust industrial innovation, featuring 11,304 exhibitors, including approximately 3,700 specialized companies in electric vehicles, lithium batteries, solar cells, digital technologies, and smart manufacturing. The focus on advanced technologies and green solutions demonstrates China's continued transformation into a high-tech manufacturing powerhouse.
