Explore the Night Sky with Your Own Telescope

On February 1, 2026, Moritown in Akishima, Tokyo will host an exciting event – the "DIY Telescope Workshop and Stargazing Session". This initiative is in collaboration with Vixen Co., Ltd., a well-known optics manufacturer aimed at enhancing people’s experiences of the night sky.

Event Overview

This event is designed for everyone, allowing participants to construct their very own telescopes and enjoy observing the wonders of the night sky. Attendees can dive into crafting as well as astronomy, making for an unforgettable educational experience.

DIY Telescope Workshop

Participants will engage in a hands-on workshop where they can create a personalized telescope using scratch sheets. The workshop is structured to be accessible, catering to both young children and adults. It promises to be a delightful experience as you embellish your very own telescope, giving it a unique touch that represents your individual style. Once the telescopes are complete, participants will have the opportunity to utilize their creations during the subsequent stargazing session.

Stargazing Session

Following the workshop at 6 PM, the stargazing session will commence, featuring the opportunity to observe the nearly full moon and Jupiter through both the self-made telescopes and professional instruments from Vixen. Whether or not participants attended the workshop, anyone is welcome to partake in this enchanting experience under the stars.

• - Date: February 1, 2026
• - Time Slots: 1:00 PM, 2:00 PM, 3:00 PM, and 4:00 PM (each lasting 50 minutes)
• - Location: Moritown, East Wing, 1F, Hikari no Hiroba (Light Square)
• - Registration Start Time: 12:00 PM (Tickets will be distributed from this time)
• - Eligibility: All ages are welcome
• - Participation Method: Present a receipt of 1,000 yen or more from Moritown's specialty shops along with your LINE account registration screen on the event day.
• - Capacity: 25 participants per session (children must be accompanied by an adult)

Stargazing Session Details

• - Date: February 1, 2026
• - Time: 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM
• - Location: Moritown’s Restaurant Area
• - Eligibility: All ages welcome
• - Capacity: Unlimited (children must be accompanied by an adult)
• - Note: The stargazing session may be canceled in the event of rain.
