GAC Launches AION V SUV in Finland, Expanding Electric Vehicle Market Presence

GAC Launches AION V in Finland: A New Era for Electric SUVs

On September 23, 2025, GAC Group officially unveiled its strategic global electric SUV, the AION V, in Finland. This launch is a pivotal moment for GAC as it represents the third European market to receive GAC vehicles, highlighting the company's commitment to expanding its footprint in Europe’s electric vehicle (EV) sector.

The arrival of the AION V is integral to GAC's pan-European strategy, which hastened after the signing of a global partnership agreement with Inchcape at the 2024 Paris Motor Show. This collaboration leverages Inchcape's extensive sales and service network, combined with GAC’s cutting-edge technology, to deliver valuable offerings to Finnish and European consumers. Finland is the first market to benefit from this partnership, with plans to extend the collaboration to additional European countries.

Designed with Finland’s sustainability, safety, and spaciousness needs at its core, the AION V boasts impressive technological advancements. The vehicle has achieved a remarkable five-star Euro NCAP safety rating for 2025, reinforcing its status as a leader in automotive safety. With a WLTP range of 510 kilometers and ultra-rapid charging capabilities, owners can recharge from 10% to 80% in just 24 minutes, effectively alleviating range anxiety for EV drivers. As Finland develops its charging infrastructure, the AION V becomes an increasingly appealing option for eco-conscious consumers.

The AION V’s spacious interior, supported by a 2,775 mm wheelbase and providing a trunk capacity of 427 liters, is perfectly suited for various lifestyles, from family trips to outdoor adventures. Regarding reliability and long-term ownership, this model offers an impressive 8-year or 160,000-kilometer warranty on the vehicle and an 8-year or 200,000-kilometer warranty on the battery. This assurance gives customers confidence in their investment, while also minimizing ownership costs. With its offerings associating high-end configurations at competitive prices, the AION V is well-positioned in Finland's Nordic EV market.

Since presenting its “European market plan” at the Paris Auto Show, GAC has strategically established itself in Europe, quickly entering Poland, Portugal, and now Finland. By 2028, GAC aims for comprehensive coverage across the continent, supported by continuous efforts toward developing sales channels, enhancing service systems, and integrating supply chains. With an increasing number of models and a broadened service network, GAC is set to provide European users with a unique and valuable mobility experience while playing an essential role in transforming the global automotive industry.

The AION V’s launch is not just a significant stride for GAC but also a step towards a greener and more sustainable automotive future in Europe. As the company continues to roll out its models and expand its services, it is poised to make a lasting impact on the EV landscape in the region.
