Brassfield Estate Winery Celebrates Success of the 2025 Harvest Season with Promising Vintages

Brassfield Estate Winery's Successful 2025 Harvest Season

Brassfield Estate Winery, regarded as a leading force in Northern California’s wine scene, is thrilled to announce the successful completion of its 2025 harvest season. Nestled in Lake County’s High Valley AVA, the winery is recognized for its commitment to authenticity and fostered connections with the unique terroir of the region.

The harvest season kicked off slightly later than average, with the first grapes, Sauvignon Blanc, being picked from the winery's High Serenity Ranch. By mid-October, the team concluded the harvest with the Cabernet Franc showcasing the winery's diverse portfolio. The growing season was characterized by cooler-than-usual temperatures, allowing the fruit to ripen steadily and evenly. Overall, the yields were higher than the preceding year, averaging around four tons per acre on the estate’s expansive 500 acres.

The standout variety for 2025 is undoubtedly the Cabernet Sauvignon, according to Jonathan Walters, the winery’s Vice President of Vineyard and Winemaking Operations. He notes that the grapes from their vineyards, which are elevated between 1,800 to 3,000 feet, show remarkable color and tannin, indicative of exceptional quality. Walters asserts, “Cabernet is shaping up to be the quality leader of this harvest,” emphasizing the light and elegant tannins along with great acidity resulting from the moderate weather throughout the growing season.

As for the Sauvignon Blanc, it has already been fermented to dryness, leading the winemaking team to eagerly anticipate bottling. This varietal showcases bright aromas, minerality, and balance, reflecting the pure fruit expression achieved amidst the optimal climatic conditions of 2025.

Brassfield Estate Winery has long held a promise to produce wines that honor the land and showcase the richness of the vintage year. Driven by nature’s favorable conditions and the team’s diligent care, this harvest stands to yield wines of remarkable distinction, encapsulating the essence of High Valley’s unique volcanic terroir.

Chris Baker, President of Brassfield, echoes this sentiment, noting that, “The 2025 vintage is shaping up to be iconic.” Walters shares the excitement, expressing their eagerness to unveil this exemplary vintage to wine enthusiasts and connoisseurs.

Founded with a vision to craft distinctive, terroir-driven wines, Brassfield Estate Winery has established itself in one of California's most intriguing wine regions, Lake County. High Serenity Ranch, the heart of the winery, spans nearly 5,000 acres across both eastern and western sections of High Valley, surrounded by the Round Mountain Volcano. The winery is characterized by its high elevation, a rarity shared by only 1% of the vineyards across the globe. Brassfield’s unwavering commitment to sustainable farming practices and precision winemaking continues to yield a diverse array of seventeen varietal wines, all produced from vine to bottle by their dedicated team.

As the 2025 harvest season culminates in success, the future looks promising for both the winery and the wines it produces, as they uphold their legacy of excellence and craftsmanship in the art of winemaking.
