Unveiling 'Path of Liberty': A Tribute to American Values
On May 8, 2025, New York City witnessed a remarkable celebration as the Soloviev Foundation opened the doors to an inspiring public art installation named
'Path of Liberty: That Which Unites US.' This exhibition marks a significant tribute to the 250th anniversary of America, blending visual art with powerful personal narratives to create a unique exploration of liberty and equality.
A Landmark Installation
Located along Manhattan's East Side, stretching from 38th to 41st Street on First Avenue, this six-acre exhibition transforms the remarkable stories of World War II heroes and contemporary change-makers into vivid and interactive displays. It leverages larger-than-life visual storytelling to connect audiences with America's founding ideals.
The official ribbon-cutting ceremony was graced by the presence of
Lenny Kravitz, the renowned multi-GRAMMY-winning artist, who took part in recognizing outstanding student essay winners. These winners were celebrated for their reflective essays on the importance of liberty—ensuring the voices of youth were at the forefront of this event.
Inspiring Student Voices
Stefan Soloviev, Principal of the Soloviev Foundation, expressed the emotional resonance of the installation, stating, "The voices of the students and those photographed are a powerful reminder of where we've been and where we're going together." This sentiment was echoed by
Michael Hershman, CEO of Soloviev Group, who emphasized the installation as an ongoing conversation fostering connections among diverse community members through shared narratives of freedom and unity.
During the ceremony, Kravitz highlighted the crucial role of youth in shaping societal discussions about freedom. One poignant moment came from
Jonathan D., a 10th grader from Brooklyn, who shared his pride in his parents' journey to U.S. citizenship. He remarked, "America is not just a place—it is a promise. A promise that no matter where you come from, you have the chance to build something greater."
Another student,
Janet C. from Queens, recounted her grandparents' immigration story, showcasing their enduring love for the American identity through the lens of the Olympics. Her essay poignantly reminded attendees that America’s essence lies in unity, not just origin.
