Midea Building Technologies Showcases Next-Gen Eco-Friendly Innovations at MCE 2026

Midea Building Technologies Introduces Cutting-Edge Sustainable Solutions at MCE 2026

Midea Building Technologies (MBT) left a notable mark at the MCE 2026 event by unveiling three groundbreaking innovations that emphasize the company's commitment to sustainability. The highlighted technologies include the V9 VRF system, R290 heat pump portfolio, and advanced data center cooling solutions. These developments underscore MBT's dedication to both eco-friendly refrigerants and energy-efficient technologies in the HVAC industry.

The Revolutionary V9 VRF System

One of the standout features of the showcase was the new V9 VRF system. This state-of-the-art system relies on two pivotal technologies: the ShieldBox II electric control box and the environmentally conscious R32 refrigerant. The ShieldBox II is constructed with automotive-grade die-cast aluminum housing, which significantly reduces the unit's volume by 70%. This enhancement allows for a larger heat exchanger, increasing the efficiency of the outdoor unit.

Additionally, the three-zoning design integrates an IP68-rated protection, ensuring that the system operates effectively in various environments. A notable feature is its phase-change cooling mechanism, which maintains coolant temperature at a steady 30°C, thus extending the lifespan of components even under extreme conditions. Moreover, the V9 has successfully passed the TÜV's first three-tier safety assessment for systems using flammable refrigerants, highlighting its adherence to internationally recognized safety standards.

Comprehensive R290 Heat Pump Portfolio

MBT also showcased its R290 heat pump portfolio, with capacities ranging from 4kW to 70kW suitable for residential, commercial, and industrial applications. The Mars Large R290 ATW Commercial Heat Pump was among the key exhibits, recognized with an MCE Excellence Award for its ability to deliver water temperatures up to 85°C using R290 refrigerant.

This unit boasts full DC inverter technology and a dual compressor backup system, which ensures reliable operation under diverse conditions. Compact and energy-efficient, with a footprint of just 0.72 m² and an A+++ energy rating, the Mars heat pump performs efficiently even at -10°C outside temperature, maintaining 100% capacity and 65% at -20°C.

The Arctic Series M4 and other models further enrich the R290 product lineup, positioning them at the forefront of the transition towards natural refrigerant usage in heating applications.

Innovative Data Center Cooling Solutions

In response to the ever-increasing demand for effective cooling solutions in data centers, MBT presented liquid cooling technologies through an interactive diorama. These solutions include precision cooling distribution units (CDUs), fan walls, and magnetic bearing centrifugal chillers designed to ensure energy efficiency with a PUE as low as 1.2.

The AirBoost Vera Air-Cooled Magnetic Bearing Centrifugal Chiller is particularly noteworthy, featuring dual-power switching capabilities and customizable THDi to enhance power reliability. It achieves exceptional efficiency by delivering outlet water temperatures of up to 36°C with a temperature differential of 20°C. With an emphasis on sustainability, the system supports indirect natural cooling and is compatible with eco-friendly refrigerants.

The CDU features multiple redundancies, leak protection, and thoroughly tested core components, ensuring long-term reliability and performance.

Commitment to a Sustainable Future

Midea Building Technologies continues to define its role as a leader in providing integrated solutions that cater to the evolving demands of Europe’s green transition. The focus on innovation and sustainability reflects MBT's dedication to shaping a smarter, low-carbon future for the HVAC industry. As the world pushes towards more sustainable practices, MBT's advancements at MCE 2026 stand as a testament to their commitment and potential impact on future technologies. Therefore, MBT solidifies its position as a forward-thinking company committed to creating effective, sustainable solutions for various sectors.

The showcase at MCE 2026 is not just about unveiling products; it signifies MBT's ongoing pledge to harness technology for a greener planet. As they continue to innovate, the trajectory they set is sure to influence industry standards and inspire further advancements in eco-friendly technology.
