Bauducco Foods Breaks Ground on New Facility in Zephyrhills
On March 21, 2025, Bauducco Foods, one of the world’s prominent cookie brands, announced the groundbreaking of its latest production and distribution facility in Zephyrhills, Florida. With this significant step, they are set to strengthen their presence in the U.S. market and boost local job opportunities.
Founded in 1952 by Carlo Bauducco in São Paulo, Brazil, Bauducco has built a reputation for crafting delicious baked goods, offering over 400,000 tons of products annually. As a family-operated business now in its third generation, they pride themselves on creating memorable moments through their innovative recipes. The company is particularly famous for its Panettone, which holds a commanding share of the U.S. market.
Stefano Mozzi, CEO of Bauducco USA, stated, "We explored more than 160 locations in seven states for our new facility, and Zephyrhills emerged as our top choice. The supportive business environment and the assistance from local development teams played a crucial role in our decision."
The new facility is strategically located within the Zephyrhills Airport Industrial Park Ready Site, which spans an impressive 72 acres. Bauducco plans to invest over $200 million into the project, which aims to produce and distribute a variety of their signature products, including biscuits, wafers, and, of course, their well-loved Panettones.
Mayor Melonie Bahr Monson of Zephyrhills expressed enthusiasm for the development, stating that the facility not only signifies economic growth but also adds hundreds of high-wage jobs to the local economy, further enhancing Zephyrhills' status as a prime business destination.
The construction of the facility will take place in three phases. The first phase is anticipated to be operational by mid-2026, followed by the second phase in 2028, and the final phase expected to complete by 2030. This ambitious timeline promises to bring approximately 600 new jobs to the Tampa Bay area, with 120 full-time positions opening in the initial phase alone.
Billy Poe, the City Manager of Zephyrhills, echoed the sentiment of the mayor, highlighting the project as a critical asset to the local economy and a testament to the city’s business-friendly outlook.
Commissioner Ron Oakley of Pasco County added, "This groundbreaking represents a significant opportunity for our community, bringing in a global leader and the accompanying economic benefits. We are thrilled to welcome Bauducco Foods to our area."
The advanced production technologies that will be employed at the new facility are anticipated to allow Bauducco to expand its offerings, introducing exciting new products to the market moving forward. The Bauducco team is committed to establishing long-lasting relationships with the local community and looks forward to sharing their passion for baking.
As more details about the facility unfold, the community anticipates the positive impact this investment will have. Bauducco’s commitment to job creation and economic development holds promise for a bright future in Zephyrhills, and their legacy of innovation and quality baking continues to thrive.
