JTB Group's Commitment to Support Reconstruction After the Kumamoto Earthquake
In the wake of the recent earthquake in Kumamoto Prefecture, which caused significant loss of life and property, we at JTB Group extend our heartfelt condolences to the victims and their families. Our thoughts are with all those affected by this tragic event as well as the communities involved.
In response to the disaster, JTB Group has resolved to contribute a total of 17 million yen towards relief efforts aimed at aiding the victims and facilitating a speedy recovery for the impacted areas. We recognize that the path to recovery will be long, but we are committed to doing everything we can to support these communities.
Details of Support
The contribution consists of 10 million yen donated directly to the Kumamoto Earthquake Relief Fund, with the remaining 7 million yen allocated for additional support initiatives focused on restoration and rebuilding efforts. This comprehensive approach includes not just direct aid to those who have suffered losses but also assistance to relevant organizations working tirelessly in reconstruction efforts.
Furthermore, we are preparing to launch a “Kumamoto Earthquake Disaster Relief Points Donation Program” for our JTB Travel Members. This initiative will provide an avenue for our valued members to contribute points towards relief efforts, and we believe it will significantly enhance our collective ability to assist those affected.
Continual Commitment
In addition to financial contributions, the JTB Group is exploring means to ensure that support from our customers is effectively delivered to the affected areas. We understand that immediate action is required and are intent on implementing these plans as soon as they are finalized.
As we proceed, our focus remains on close cooperation with the communities affected, ensuring that our actions align with their needs and priorities. Recovery from such a devastating event won't happen overnight, but we promise to stand by those in need and strive for a quicker return to normalcy.
In closing, we sincerely wish for the recovery and revitalization of Kumamoto Prefecture. We understand that rebuilding lives and communities is a monumental task, and we are dedicated to supporting these efforts in every way we can. Our hope is for a swift and thorough recovery for everyone affected by this disaster.
