A frequently mentioned concern among loan applicants is the potential for their workplace to be contacted for verification. However, about 27% of respondents reported that their applications were completed through documentation alone, without any calls to their places of work. The insights were gathered through internet research using the tool, Freezy. The participants were individuals who have utilized SMBC Mobit's card loans within the last five years. The sample comprised 26 respondents, mostly male (76.92%), surveyed between February 26 and March 11, 2026.

When analyzing the employment and income attributes of participants, it became evident that a majority were regular employees or civil servants with annual incomes above 500,000 yen, which accounted for 23.08%. Other occupations included contract workers and part-time employees. This diversity in demographics allows for a well-rounded perspective of the customer base and their needs.

Factors that Shaped Decisions



Several factors were identified that further explain the appeal of SMBC Mobit. Apart from the convenience of online applications, 34.62% of respondents specifically pointed to the loan approval speed of as little as 15 minutes. Additionally, trust in the SMBC group secured the choice for 19.23% of users. The ease of handling transactions with existing accounts at Mitsui Sumitomo Bank also attracted some customers. The overall impression driven through advertising and website design similarly influenced decisions for 15.38%.

Application Processing Times



Respondents reported their experiences with the time taken from application submission to loan disbursement. Graphically, 15.38% received their funds within 15 minutes of applying, and 26.92% within an hour, showcasing a commendable efficiency standard for loan processing. The data indicates strong operational capabilities, ensuring that customers' financial needs are met rapidly and effectively.

Experiences & Feedback from Users



Users were asked about their experiences and satisfaction levels with the service, yielding various feedback. Many participants expressed satisfaction with the ability to manage everything via their smartphones, while the absence of calls to workplaces was mentioned as an appreciated feature by 11.54%. However, some concerns were noted regarding potential ATM fees and the complexity of linking V points, indicating areas where the service might improve. One respondent expressed disappointment when the approved loan amount fell short of their request.
