Sungrow and KTISTOR Energy Team Up for Major Energy Storage Projects in Greece

Sungrow and KTISTOR Energy's Innovative Endeavor

Sungrow, a renowned leader in PV inverter and energy storage systems, has embarked on a significant partnership with KTISTOR Energy, a prominent construction firm specializing in renewable energy projects. This collaboration aims to deploy the advanced PowerTitan 2.0 Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) across multiple sites in Greece, marking a pivotal step towards enhancing the country's energy infrastructure.

The PowerTitan 2.0 will be utilized in four major energy storage projects located in Northern and Central Greece, boasting a combined capacity of 105 MWh. Among the projects are the Dokos facility in Rodopi and the Petra site in Kozani, each equipped with licensed capacities to support local energy needs efficiently. These projects will also play an essential role in bolstering grid stability and advancing Greece's renewable energy transition goals.

Each of the selected projects presents unique capacities. For example, the Dokos project has an 8.875 MW capacity, offering a usable energy reserve of 25.065 MWh for two hours of operation. Similarly, the Petra project is designed to deliver 20.055 MWh from its 7.8 MW capacity, also for two hours. Additionally, the Agia Anna projects, both in Viotia, will support three-hour operating periods with 7.8 MW each, resulting in a total usable capacity of 60.18 MWh across both sites.

Expected deliveries of the innovative PowerTitan 2.0 systems are scheduled for summer 2025. Sungrow's ability to deliver customized solutions efficiently highlights its robust logistical capabilities and dedication to meeting client needs effectively. The PowerTitan 2.0 is engineered not just for high performance but also for superior thermal management and system longevity, thanks to its liquid-cooled technology.
