Abdullah Abdin Ready Mix Concrete recently celebrated a remarkable milestone by becoming the first ready-mix concrete company in the MENA region to achieve certification from the Concrete Sustainability Council (CSC). This prestigious certification underscores the company's commitment to sustainable construction practices, positioning it as a front-runner in the sector.

The CSC certification is not just a badge of honor but a recognition of Abdullah Abdin's dedication to implementing advanced sustainability practices and establishing a higher standard for environmental and social responsibility. This accomplishment aligns seamlessly with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, reinforcing Abdullah Abdin's role as an innovative leader in the construction industry.

Established in 2017, the CSC aims to support global Sustainable Development Goals in the concrete sector. It is the only worldwide certification system applicable to ready-mixed and precast concrete, with over 1,288 certified plants across 25 countries. The CSC certification is recognized by leading green building labels like LEED and BREEAM, further emphasizing its importance in the construction field.

To commemorate this significant achievement, a ceremony was held at the company's facility in Sharma, NEOM, attended by prominent industry figures and partners. Tariq Abdullah Abdin, CEO of Abdullah Abdin Ready Mix Concrete, stated, "This milestone reflects our dedication to leading Saudi Arabia in sustainable development. As the first company in the region to achieve this certification, we aim to set the standard for responsible environmental construction, contributing to the ambitious goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030."

Cynthia Imesch, Coordinator and Director of Sustainability for the CSC, highlighted the impact of Abdullah Abdin’s accomplishment, stating, "Their achievement represents a significant step forward for the construction sector in the region. By integrating sustainability into their operations, they exemplify the transformative role businesses can play in achieving global climate goals. This leadership paves the way for broader adoption of these essential standards within the industry."

Supporting this sentiment, Rabih Fakih, General Manager of Grey Matters, the regional CSC system operator, expressed pride in aiding Abdullah Abdin in obtaining this certification. He remarked, "This milestone underscores their leadership and encourages other businesses in the region to adopt practices aligned with the environmental aspirations of Vision 2030 and NEOM."

In addition to achieving CSC certification, Abdullah Abdin recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with MENA region Cryo and CarbonCure Technologies to deploy carbon capture and utilization technologies. This collaboration is set to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and enhance the sustainability of concrete production. By employing innovative solutions like injecting captured CO₂ into concrete mixes, this partnership aligns with Abdullah Abdin's larger mission to lead environmentally friendly construction practices and actively contribute to the Kingdom's decarbonization goals.
