This event will take place at the Takeo Aoyama showroom located in Omotesando, Tokyo, from December 1, 2025, to January 16, 2026. This showcase is not just a visual treat, but also a hands-on experience, celebrating the art of playful New Year cards that have captivated audiences since their inception.

The upcoming exhibition spotlights the year 2026, themed around the horse, featuring the "RUN RUN HORSE" motif as the centerpiece. This piece is one of the various designs that have evolved since the debut of the "playable New Year cards" series created by the talented art director, Yuki Sugiyama, in 2013. Each year, a new zodiac theme has been crafted to encourage interaction and delight among both children and adults.

About Yuki Sugiyama

Yuki Sugiyama, a graduate of Musashino Art University, has made significant contributions as an art director across various platforms including advertising, package design, and product development. Sugiyama is dedicated to creating memorable designs that resonate irrespective of age, gender, nationality, or era. Her participation in prestigious exhibitions such as Milan Salone and 21_21 DESIGN SIGHT, alongside accolades from D&AD, NYADC, and CES Innovation Awards, further underlines her creativity and innovation.

In her own words, "The series of playable New Year cards began as an idea to create zodiac-themed cards that engage both adults and children. From cutting and folding paper to incorporating different materials, I have gone through various iterations. The designs, such as the snake sliding and the monkey gliding, allow play and decoration simultaneously. Now, as we approach the year of the horse, I am thrilled to showcase the whimsical 'RUN RUN HORSE' piece alongside the entire playable zodiac series. May 2026 be a 'running' wonderful year!"
