Canon to Unveil Cutting-Edge Recycling Technology at Recycling Tech Japan 2025
From November 12 to 14, 2025, Canon will be featuring its advanced recycling technologies at the inaugural Recycling Tech Japan event, held at Makuhari Messe. Demonstrating its commitment to enhancing productivity in recycling processes, Canon's booth will include state-of-the-art equipment and initiatives geared towards resource circulation.
Showcasing the TR-A100 Plastic Analysis Device
At the Canon booth, visitors can expect to see the highly anticipated tabletop plastic analysis device, the
TR-A100, which is set for order availability in June 2025. This device has been designed to accurately and efficiently analyze multiple types of plastic materials, including notoriously challenging black plastics, through advanced Raman spectroscopy. By facilitating the simultaneous identification of various plastic pieces, the TR-A100 significantly streamlines the quality assurance process for recycled plastics, eliminating the need for labor-intensive manual inspections that recyclers typically engage in.
In addition to the TR-A100, attendees will have the opportunity to view a small demo model of the
TR-S1510, a plastic sorting device that utilizes similar technology. This innovative device will be demonstrated to showcase its ability to quickly sort recovered plastic materials in real-time using tracking Raman spectroscopy, effectively distinguishing materials as they move along a conveyor.
Introducing the Canon Eco Tech Park
Canon will also be highlighting its broader resource circulation efforts through informative panel displays. An integral part of their environmental initiatives, the
Canon Eco Tech Park serves as a collection point for used office equipment like multifunction printers and cartridges. This facility incorporates a modern recycling plant along with a showroom that is accessible for public visits. Here, Canon conducts various environmentally focused educational programs aimed at elementary school children, fostering a culture of sustainability.
The showroom is currently undergoing a phased renovation aimed at expanding its exhibit content, which will further engage visitors in Canon’s environmental mission.
