On August 18, Altius Link Vietnam Joint Stock Company, a subsidiary focused on outsourcing services primarily in Japan and Asia, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST). This agreement aims to foster collaboration in the fields of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO).
The celebration of this partnership saw esteemed attendees, including HUST President Huynh Quyet Thang, Vice President of Mitsui & Co. Sato, and JICA Vietnam’s representative Kobayashi, who have committed to enhancing the collaboration between industry and academia. This partnership is vital for boosting the development of the BPO sector and advancing cutting-edge technologies in both Vietnam and Japan.
Altius Link Vietnam aims to leverage its affiliation with HUST for various initiatives. These include mutual exchanges of knowledge in scientific and technological areas, establishing a framework for the exchange of talent among engineers and researchers, and conducting joint research on AI applications and automation in BPO processes. Furthermore, the two organizations plan to facilitate internships and career guidance for HUST students, providing support for their employment prospects.
During the signing ceremony, HUST President Huynh Quyet Thang expressed the significance of collaborating with Japanese companies. He highlighted that about 1,000 graduates from HUST are currently thriving in Japan’s workforce, with numerous startups also targeting the Japanese market. This positive cycle sees experienced professionals returning to Vietnam after establishing their careers in Japan, contributing actively to the growth of the local IT industry.
Thang emphasized the importance of such partnerships, stating, "This is a pivotal moment for deepening our ties with Japanese enterprises, and I have great hopes that our collaboration will continue to flourish in the future."
President Sagawa from Altius Link Vietnam remarked, "The MOU we signed today marks a significant milestone for our company and represents the beginning of a more robust and cooperative partnership. With the support of HUST, we aim to establish an AI team within Altius Link Vietnam that aligns with our principles of speed, accuracy, and simplicity. We’re committed to providing more beneficial services to our client companies while creating new value and business opportunities through AI. I am confident that this initiative will serve as a foundation for fruitful collaboration between Vietnam and Japan."
Altius Link Vietnam was first established in November 2009 as the first Japanese-capitalized outsourcing company in Vietnam. It provides a variety of services, including contact center operations, back-office services in Japanese (such as data entry, human resources, and graphic design), and various marketing and research services. By leveraging the extensive know-how of Altius Link’s proven BPO industry expertise cultivated over years in Japan, the company aims to enhance productivity and brand power for its clients.
Altius Link, the parent company, is a joint venture between KDDI and Mitsui & Co., with a vast network of around 100 domestic and international locations and approximately 56,000 diverse talents. The company focuses on delivering high-value-added services combined with cutting-edge digital technology to tackle true challenges faced by client businesses, creating better communication experiences and striving towards their growth objectives.
With this recent collaboration, both Altius Link Vietnam and HUST aspire to set the stage for enhanced educational experiences and innovative advancements in Vietnam's technology landscape.
