PowerHouse Data Centers Enhances Northern Virginia Expansion with New Lease at Arcola Campus
PowerHouse Data Centers Expands at Arcola Campus
PowerHouse Data Centers, known for its pioneering developments in hyperscale data centers, is making waves in Northern Virginia's competitive landscape with its latest announcement. A long-term lease agreement was recently executed for the PowerHouse Arcola campus, marking a remarkable milestone in its strategic growth. This move aligns with the company's vision to advance its services in one of the world's foremost data center hubs.
Located strategically near the intersection of Route 50 and Loudoun County Parkway, the Arcola campus boasts direct access to robust fiber networks and utility infrastructure, making it an ideal location for hyperscale data operators. The site, encompassing 37 acres, is planned to accommodate two two-story data center buildings with a total area of 615,000 square feet. This development will enable PowerHouse to offer up to 120 MW of utility capacity, catering to the high demands of AI, cloud, and high-performance computing workloads.
Douglas Fleit, CEO and Co-Founder of PowerHouse Data Centers, emphasized the importance of this lease, stating that it highlights the confidence that hyperscale operators place in their capacity to deliver reliable services in challenging markets. The Arcola site not only provides power security but also features a fiber-dense environment, creating a purpose-built setting that meets the specific needs of its customers.
As the demand for secure, scalable digital infrastructure swells, PowerHouse is addressing the need with its commitment to developing power-secured data centers. Brian Katz, President and Co-Founder, noted, "The fundamentals driving our investment strategy are rooted in the growing requirements for digital infrastructure that powers AI and cloud operations." Focusing on long-term value generation for investors, the Arcola campus exemplifies PowerHouse’s disciplined investment approach.
The Arcola campus design reflects modern sustainability practices, aiming for LEED BD+C certification. Notable green features include tree buffer conservation, waste management, water-use reduction, and electric vehicle charging stations. The visually appealing architecture is set to set a new benchmark for Data Center Alley.
Innovative connectivity solutions have also been factored into the campus’s design, ensuring low-latency access through dark fiber routes to other major hubs like Ashburn and Manassas. This will support extensive deployments and hybrid platforms, further solidifying PowerHouse's role in the sector.
PowerHouse's strategy extends beyond Arcola, with plans for national growth, reinforcing its reputation as a leader in hyperscale data center development. The company currently holds a remarkable portfolio with 118 buildings in various stages of planning or construction across multiple key U.S. markets, amounting to over 8.1 GW of power capacity targeted for delivery between 2026 and 2027.
As PowerHouse continues to leverage its deep-rooted industry connections, strategic partnerships, and technical expertise, its mission remains to capitalize on the growing market for data-driven solutions nationwide. With the Arcola campus now in the works, PowerHouse Data Centers is poised to play a pivotal role in supporting the exponential growth of data infrastructure across the United States.
