FMC Corporation Introduces Innovative Tremisia® Fungicide Technology to EMEA Markets

FMC Corporation, a prominent figure in the agricultural sciences sector, has reached a significant milestone with the official approval of its Tremisia® fungicide in Ukraine. This regulatory nod not only marks the introduction of the novel fluindapyr technology to the European, Middle Eastern, and African (EMEA) regions but also reinforces FMC's role in supporting agricultural productivity against persistent crop diseases.

The Tremisia® fungicide is designed specifically for key crops such as oilseed rape, sunflower, and wheat, effectively addressing some of the most critical agricultural diseases impacting these plants. The registration currently encompasses more than 10 million hectares of farmland in Ukraine. According to Sebastià Pons, president of FMC EMEA, this new technology represents a proactive approach to enhancing the health and productivity of crops in a region noted for its agricultural output. Ukraine is known to be one of the leading exporters of sunflower, oilseed rape, and wheat globally, thus making this approval pivotal in serving the needs of local growers.

This innovative fungicide merges FMC's proprietary fluindapyr molecule with flutriafol, creating a robust dual-action solution. Its design helps in protecting crops for extended periods against a variety of economically significant diseases including Alternaria and Sclerotinia in sunflowers, as well as Septoria and rust in wheat. The combination of these active ingredients enables better management of crop health, promising higher yield and quality for farmers wrestling with disease pressures.

Nataliia Savchenko, FMC Ukraine’s country leader, comments on the significance of this technology, stating, "This registration fills an important gap in disease management options for Ukrainian growers, providing a high-performance tool to protect their crops from devastating disease." When tackling plant disease, effective fungicides are crucial; they not only safeguard against potential losses but also empower farmers with the freedom to incorporate sophisticated solutions into their existing crop management programs.

Prior to this, FMC successfully commercialized fluindapyr-based products in countries such as Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, and the United States. Following this pattern, conditional approvals have also been secured in places like the Philippines, with anticipation for the launch of these vital products in countries such as Bolivia, Chile, and India. FMC's clear vision is to enhance global access to cutting-edge fungicide technology, thereby ensuring sustainable agricultural practices in various regions.

The launch of Tremisia® not only showcases FMC's commitment to advancing agricultural innovation but also highlights the company's proactive stance towards enhancing food security in a world faced with increasing agricultural challenges. The company emphasizes that its mission extends beyond just improving crop yield; it encompasses a broader goal to devise solutions that contribute positively to environmental sustainability.

FMC Corporation is devoted to reimagining agricultural practices with a focus on improving food production alongside environmental considerations. Their crop protection solutions—encompassing biologicals, crop nutrition, and digital agriculture—aim to equip growers with the tools needed to tackle emergent challenges effectively. With agricultural technology at the heart of their operations, FMC is set to contribute significantly towards addressing the food production demands of a growing global population.
