Kao's Resesh Opens a Unique Yakiniku Restaurant in Shibuya to Combat Unconscious Odors

Kao's Unique Venture in Shibuya: Yakiniku Resesh

Kao Corporation is set to introduce a groundbreaking concept in Shibuya, Tokyo: the temporary Yakiniku Resesh restaurant. Opening its doors on August 11, with a special invite-only pre-launch on August 10, this restaurant aims to bring awareness to the phenomenon of unconscious odors that often go unnoticed, particularly those associated with grilling meat.

Addressing the Issue of Unconscious Odors

Known for its clothing and fabric deodorizing spray, Resesh was born from a desire to tackle odor-related stress, and its recent research has led to the recognition of a modern issue: unconscious odors. These are smells that we become desensitized to, frequently failing to notice them even in familiar situations. For instance, while enjoying a yakiniku meal, patrons may not realize the strong scent clinging to their clothes until they return home.

To explore this issue first-hand, the Yakiniku Resesh serves as an experiment space to engage visitors with their senses while enjoying a delicious meal. The restaurant will function from August 11 to 14, with a booking fee of 2,500 yen ($23) for an exclusive yakiniku course valued at 5,000 yen, including all-you-can-drink options.
