Capital Tokyo International School (CTIS) is thrilled to announce its 2026 Summer School, designed to provide a stimulating and engaging environment for children from Kindergarten to the second year of Junior High. Scheduled sessions run from July 27 to July 31 and August 3 to August 7, 2026, allowing young learners to immerse themselves in all-English lessons that foster creativity and critical thinking.
Exciting Program Details
CTIS's Summer School will take place at two locations: the primary campus in Minamiazabu for Kindergarten through fourth-grade students and the secondary campus in Mita for fifth through eighth-grade students. Each session lasts five days and is filled with interactive Project-Based Learning (PBL), where students tackle real-world problems while honing their communication and collaboration skills.
Sessions and Themes

For Kindergarten to Grade 4: SPACE PROJECT - Focused on academic learning related to space science and engineering.

Session 1: Learn about our Solar System and the Universe, where students will engage in scientific analysis of planets and even dream up their ideal planetary living conditions.

Session 2: Explore the workings of rockets, rovers, and space stations, culminating in designing their own exploratory machines to solve real-space challenges.

For Grade 5 to Junior High 2: MATCHA CREATORS PROJECT - Collaborations with industry professionals to develop a unique matcha beverage.

Session 1: Product design focuses on creating a marketable matcha drink and its packaging.

Session 2: Promotional design delves into marketing strategies, allowing students to explore various ways to engage future consumers.
Active Learning Experience
All lessons are delivered through the renowned PBL format, ensuring that learners not only absorb information but actively contribute to discussions, collaborate in groups, and present their innovative projects. By engaging in this curriculum, students will develop essential skills relevant to future real-world scenarios, enhancing both their academic and creative capabilities.
In the afternoons, students can expand their skills through activities like parkour and creative expression lessons. External attendees are welcome to join after-school sessions focused on improving social English language skills, providing a well-rounded educational atmosphere.
Registration and Participation
The Summer School is open to children from Kindergarten to Junior High 2, with specific requirements for Non-CTIS participants who must demonstrate English proficiency. The cost for internal students is JPY 53,000, while external applicants will pay JPY 75,500. Optional organic lunches, after-school care, and extended hours are also available at an additional fee.
Location and Timing
All sessions will run from 9 AM to 2 PM daily at:
- - Minamiazabu campus for Kindergarten to Grade 4: Located in Minato-ku, Tokyo.
- - Mita campus for Grade 5 to Junior High 2: Also in Minato-ku, Tokyo.
Important Dates
- - Registration deadlines are set for June 26 for Session 1 and July 3 for Session 2. Applications may close earlier if capacity is reached.
- - A non-refundable fee will apply after registration deadlines.
