Cody Phelps Takes the Helm as Vice President of Strategic Acquisitions at Cambridge Investment

Cambridge Welcomes Cody Phelps as Vice President

In a remarkable addition to its leadership team, Cambridge Investment Research, Inc. has appointed Cody Phelps as the First Vice President of Strategic Acquisitions. This strategic move is anticipated to reinforce the company's corporate development and facilitate continued enterprise growth. With over 15 years of extensive experience in the financial services sector, Phelps is well-equipped to assume this pivotal role, which focuses on enhancing business operations and driving strategic initiatives.

Phelps will collaborate closely with senior leaders to guide multiple Cambridge-owned offices known as Offices of Supervisory Jurisdiction (OSJs), which encompass multi-advisor teams. His primary responsibilities will involve supporting recruitment efforts and fostering enterprise growth while advancing strategic initiatives that ultimately benefit both financial professionals and their clients within the Cambridge network.

Tammy Robbins, Cambridge's Executive Vice President and Chief Business Development Officer, expressed confidence in the selection of Phelps, highlighting his stellar reputation and partnership skills demonstrated while serving as a leader for one of the OSJs. Robbins stated, "We didn't have to search very far to find the ideal candidate for this role; Cody has proven himself as an outstanding partner." She also remarked on the importance of his expertise in helping the firm expand its growth and acquisition strategies, thereby providing valuable resources for independent financial professionals.

Cambridge's commitment to supporting advisors in their succession planning journey is further validated through this appointment. Recent enhancements to their offerings signify their readiness to act as a buyer when an advisor or OSJ lacks an ideal successor. This proactive approach aims to protect client relationships and ensure seamless transitions during ownership changes, underscoring the company's dedication to purposeful growth.

Prior to joining Cambridge, Phelps held the position of Field Vice President at Jordan Creek Financial Solutions, an independent firm based in West Des Moines that Cambridge acquired in 2018. His comprehensive background encompasses expertise in business development, management, consulting, recruiting, and marketing. In recognition of his impact in the industry, Phelps was recently named to the InvestmentNews Rising Stars list, which honors top financial services leaders under the age of 40.

Phelps's academic accomplishments include attendance at Central College, and he holds various FINRA licenses, including Series 7, 63, 66, 53, 3, and 24. These qualifications equip him to navigate the complexities of the financial services landscape while steering Cambridge toward its strategic goals.
