Hyundai Motor Group has officially launched its dedicated hydrogen brand, HTWO, at the H2&FC EXPO in Japan, marking a significant step in the company's mission towards sustainable energy solutions. This brand represents a comprehensive business platform that encompasses the entire hydrogen value chain, from production to utilization, emphasizing Hyundai's commitment to a hydrogen-powered future.
The HTWO brand was introduced at an event that took place from March 17 to 19 at Tokyo Big Sight, where Hyundai showcased its innovative technologies and solutions. One of the highlights of the exhibition was the all-new NEXO, a fully redesigned fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) specifically tailored for the Japanese market. This model was not only on display, but registered participants also had the unique opportunity to test drive the new NEXO, experiencing its enhanced design, spacious interior, and superior driving performance firsthand.
The HTWO brand serves as an open platform for collaboration, partnership, and investment, integrating the extensive capabilities of Hyundai Motor Group. The introduction of HTWO signifies a dedication to advancing the global transition towards a sustainable hydrogen society, with an emphasis on developing and deploying hydrogen technologies that can dramatically alter the way we power vehicles and everyday life.
Exhibition visitors were treated to a comprehensive experience of Hyundai's hydrogen leadership, which included a variety of advanced hydrogen technologies. Among these were an array of hydrogen refueling solutions, featuring a packaged hydrogen refueling station concept, hydrogen-powered tram, hydrogen burners, and a spectrum of hydrogen fuel cell electric buses and trucks. Moreover, the Automatic Charging Robot for Hydrogen (ACR-H) was also showcased, demonstrating Hyundai’s commitment to innovation within the hydrogen sector.
In addition to the booth activities, Hyundai Motor Group participated in a conference session where Duckwhan Kim, Vice President of the Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Engineering Design group, presented a lecture titled "Electrification Solution Powered by Fuel Cell Technology." This session aimed to provide insights into the company’s fuel cell development history and illustrate the breadth of its fuel cell electric vehicle line-up.
HTWO's presence at the H2&FC EXPO not only highlights Hyundai's intention to lead in hydrogen technologies but also showcases the group's continuous commitment to environmental sustainability and innovation in the automotive industry. With Japan being a key market for hydrogen initiatives, Hyundai's efforts to establish the HTWO brand reflect a strategic approach to address global energy challenges.
As Hyundai continues to push the boundaries of what's possible with hydrogen fuel cells, HTWO is set to pave the way for a future where hydrogen is a mainstream source of clean energy.
