Strengthening Economic Ties between China and Austria at the Recent Forum Held in Vienna
China-Austria Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum
The China-Austria Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum took place recently in Vienna, Austria, alongside a promotional event for the upcoming third edition of the China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE). This gathering attracted over 200 representatives from trade promotion agencies, professional associations, and businesses from both China and Austria.
Ren Hongbin, President of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), opened the forum with encouraging remarks about the recent advancements in collaboration between China and Austria across various sectors. He emphasized China's readiness to work closely with Austrian partners to leverage their complementary resources and industrial frameworks. Additionally, Mr. Ren urged companies from both nations to seek new avenues for business expansion and extended an invitation to Austrian companies and institutions to take part in the forthcoming CISCE.
The forum was attended by notable guests, including Christoph Matznetter, Vice President of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, and Qi Mei, Chinese Ambassador to Austria. The Austrian representative highlighted that this forum marked the first significant economic and trade event between Austria and China following the establishment of the new Austrian government, underlining its vital role in enhancing bilateral relations.
He described China as a reliable partner and referred to the CISCE as a premier exhibition aimed at bolstering international cooperation within the industry and supply chain sectors. Optimism was expressed for broader cooperation geared towards addressing global challenges and upholding international trade standards.
The CISCE, recognized worldwide as a leading national exhibition dedicated to supply chains, aims to facilitate the integration of upstream, downstream, and midstream sectors. It connects businesses of all sizes while promoting collaboration among industry, universities, and research institutions, thus enhancing interactions between Chinese firms and multinational enterprises. With the theme 'Connecting the World for a Common Future', it has become a crucial platform for reinforcing international cooperation in industrial and supply chains.
The third edition of the CISCE is scheduled to occur from July 16 to July 20 in Beijing, featuring exhibition zones dedicated to Advanced Manufacturing, Clean Energy, Smart Vehicles, and more. Over 300 companies have already confirmed their participation in this prestigious event. Earlier this year, promotional activities for the CISCE took place in Germany, Switzerland, Portugal, and the UK to strengthen cooperative ties between China and European nations, further deepening bilateral economic and trade relations.
The engagements at the China-Austria Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum present a promising outlook for future collaborations, highlighting the importance of working together to navigate the complexities of today’s global economy.
