LiveOnNY Foundation Welcomes New Leader

On December 5, 2024, LiveOnNY, the federal organ procurement organization for the New York Metro area, announced the appointment of Jenny Lai as the new Executive Director of the LiveOnNY Foundation. This leadership change comes at a crucial time as the organization seeks to enhance its efforts in organ donation awareness and fundraising initiatives.

The LiveOnNY Foundation was founded in 2016 with a mission to promote organ donation through fundraising and public education. Under Lai's leadership, the Foundation aims to implement a strategic multi-year plan that will bolster its impact in the community. With over 25 years of experience in the non-profit sector, particularly in health-related organizations, Lai is well-equipped to take on this challenge.

Chairman Bill Dacunto expressed enthusiasm about Lai's appointment, stating, "Her extensive background in the non-profit and healthcare sectors will greatly contribute to our goals of increasing registered organ donors in New York and raising public awareness about the importance of organ donation."

At the helm of the LiveOnNY Foundation, Jenny Lai will focus on strengthening the organization's fundraising capacity while collaborating closely with the President and CEO of LiveOnNY, Leonard Achan. Achan echoed Dacunto's sentiments, emphasizing the importance of Lai's experience in creating effective fundraising programs.

Before her role at LiveOnNY, Lai held key positions at prominent organizations, including the ESA Foundation and Dress for Success Worldwide. Her academic credentials include a master’s degree in public administration from Baruch College, where she also earned a certification as a Fundraising Executive (CFRE).

As the LiveOnNY Foundation continues to advocate for organ donation, it aspires to not only educate the public about the importance of signing up for the National or New York State Donate Life Registry but also to secure funding that will support its lifesaving initiatives.
