The National Archives of Japan, located in Chiyoda, Tokyo, is currently hosting a remarkable event to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Showa era. The special exhibition titled "Showa: The Japanese Pioneers and the Frontier—Challenges in Antarctica, the Deep Sea, and Space" will run until May 24th, offering visitors a range of fascinating activities related to Japan's groundbreaking explorations outside our planet.

Throughout the exhibition, attendees can participate in various events designed to enhance their understanding of Japan's significant contributions to exploration and scientific advancement. Here are some highlights:

1. Special Talk Sessions

These sessions feature leading experts from various fields discussing crucial themes related to the exhibition. Each session will incorporate a dialogue format, allowing for diverse perspectives.

- Second Session: “Heirs of the Antarctic and Deep Sea Frontiers” featuring:
- Ms. Naomi Harada (Professor at the University of Tokyo’s Atmosphere and Ocean Research Institute / Expedition Leader of the 66th Antarctic Observation Team)
- Mr. Takeshi Yoshiumi (Former Submersible Pilot of JAMSTEC’s “Shinkai 6500”)
