WhO and Chika Higashi Collaborate for a Vibrant New Collection



The interior wallpaper brand WhO, operated by Nohara Group Co., Ltd., has unveiled an exciting new collection featuring four distinct patterns created by renowned artist Chika Higashi. Officially launched on June 11th, this collection brings a dynamic blend of color and storytelling to interior spaces, each piece designed to evoke a sense of movement and depth.

Chika Higashi, a celebrated artist born in Nagasaki in 1981, has always had a passion for art, influenced by his father's love for painting. A graduate of Bunka Fashion College, Higashi previously established the unique umbrella brand Coci la elle, which operated from 2010 to 2022. His works are known for their innovative and poetic expressions, characterized by striking color palettes and touches of humor. In recent years, he has expanded his artistry to book illustrations and writing, all while maintaining a studio nestled in the mountains of Nagano, producing work surrounded by nature.

In this latest collection, Higashi has prioritized horizontal designs that feature dynamic strokes and playful touches. The patterns, which capitalize on bold colors and the texture of brushwork, are intended to act as eye-catching features in public spaces such as corridors and hallways. This approach allows the wall coverings to harmonize with the surroundings, creating a natural rhythm that graces the walls and invites viewers to engage with the story they embody.

The new series released by WhO is composed of 27 unique designs categorized into four distinct lines:

  • - Rain Song: CRCH420 - CRCH427
The price for the wallcoverings is set at 4,500 yen per meter (excluding tax and shipping).
