Envision and Statera Team Up for Sustainable Energy Future



Envision Energy, a renowned global leader in green technology, has made headlines by joining forces with Statera Energy, a UK-based enterprise, to develop the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) for the ambitious Carrington Storage Project. With a substantial capacity that reaches a remarkable 680 megawatts (MW) or 1360 megawatt-hours (MWh), this initiative stands as one of the UK's largest single-site battery storage projects to achieve financial closure. The endeavor marks a pivotal milestone toward achieving a more renewable and flexible power system that enhances grid reliability and supports the nation’s low-carbon initiatives.

Situated at the Trafford Low Carbon Energy Park in Greater Manchester, the Carrington Storage Project is set to be energized by late 2026. Once operational, this project anticipates supplying electricity to approximately 2.2 million households for up to two hours. This capability not only stabilizes the grid but also reduces instances of renewable energy waste and bolsters the UK's goals of achieving net-zero emissions and ensuring energy security. Key stakeholders involved in this project include Statera Energy, Lloyds, Statkraft, NatWest, Santander, Siemens Bank, SEB, and Mizuho. Their collaboration signifies strong faith in large-scale battery storage as an essential driver of the ongoing energy transition.

Envision Energy is set to deliver its state-of-the-art AI-powered Battery Energy Storage System. This advanced BESS is tailored for optimal integration with renewable sources, promising high efficiency and an extended operational lifespan. Statera selected Envision not just for its proven global expertise in energy storage technologies but also for its innovative, AI-based solutions. The integration of a Large Energy Model allows the system to actively monitor real-time grid conditions, participate in grid-forming controls, and maintain stability amid increasing renewable energy penetration. Its “forecast - dispatch - trade - self-learning” closed-loop algorithm transitions revenue generation from intuition-based methods to model-driven approaches, ensuring replicable, measurable, and sustainable growth.

This collaboration signifies a transformative leap from conventional “hardware assets” to cutting-edge “artificial intelligence assets.” This new approach emphasizes high energy density, reduced noise pollution, and enhanced flexibility alongside elevated profitability, creating a solid foundation for a sustainable and profitable renewable energy framework.
