Edward F. Davis to Address New England Law Graduates



New England Law | Boston is excited to announce that Edward F. Davis, the former Police Commissioner of Boston and current CEO of The Edward Davis Company, will be the keynote speaker at the upcoming 2025 Commencement ceremony. This significant event is scheduled for May 16, 2025, at the Boch Center Wang Theatre in Boston, where graduates will gather to celebrate their hard-earned achievements.

Mr. Davis is an esteemed figure in law enforcement, having dedicated over 40 years to public service. From December 2006 until October 2013, he served as Boston’s Police Commissioner, a period marked by his effective leadership during crucial events, including the response to the tragic Boston Marathon bombing. Before his role in Boston, he was the Superintendent of the Lowell Police Department, where he honed his leadership skills and crisis management expertise.

Currently, as the President and CEO of The Edward Davis Company, he advises clients on security consulting and crisis management, focusing on risk mitigation and emergency response strategies. His extensive experience offers invaluable insights into public safety and law enforcement.

Alongside Mr. Davis, the ceremony will also recognize distinguished individuals with honorary degrees. Boston Globe Assistant Editorial Page Editor, Rachelle G. Cohen, and Joseph D. Early, Jr., the District Attorney of Worcester County, will be awarded honorary Doctor of Humanities and Doctor of Laws degrees, respectively.
