Discover Hidden Treasures at the Eco Loop Store Festival in Tennozu

Unlocking Treasures: The Eco Loop Store Festival

From May 3 to May 6, 2025, the Eco Loop Store Festival will celebrate sustainability at the Slow House in Tennozu, hosted by ACTUS Co., Ltd. Based in Shinjuku, Tokyo, this event aims to shine a light on a variety of unique items that couldn’t be sold in regular operations, collectively known as “B-grade” goods. Visitors will have the chance to purchase these treasures at special prices while supporting the concept of sustainable living.

What to Expect at the Eco Loop Store

The Eco Loop Store presents an eclectic assortment of items, including sample pieces from the development phase of products, furniture with minor imperfections, excess fabric from curtain manufacturing, and decorative objects used in ACTUS’s physical stores. While these items were not previously offered for sale, they still carry potential and charm, awaiting a new owner who will appreciate their unique characteristics.

Expect to find pieces that tell a story—be it a vintage lamp from a bygone era or a slightly flawed wooden chair rich in history. Each item, categorized as ‘revival’, ‘imperfect’, ‘still usable’, and ‘excess’, could be transformed into something wonderful in the hands of a creative owner, proving that it’s not about the flaws but the beauty that lies within.

Transforming B-Grade Goods into Treasures

In this festival, ACTUS invites participants to explore items that might be considered 'imperfect', like the beautifully unique vintage furniture sourced from Denmark that undergoes careful restoration by local artisans. The festival celebrates these ‘second chances’ through both ecological responsibility and creativity. It’s an event aimed at promoting the idea that just because an item might have a few marks or blemishes doesn't mean it’s no longer useful — rather, it adds character.

One of the exciting features of the Eco Loop Store is the collaboration with artist norahi, who has infused life into select display items and leftover product samples with her whimsical illustrations. These pieces, adorned with her signature art, become one-of-a-kind creations, standing out in the crowd and are sure to attract buyers looking for something truly unique.

Special Event: KIRAKIRA Portrait & Sticker with norahi

As part of the festival, special events will take place on May 5 and 6, 2025. On these days, norahi will create spontaneous caricatures for the first 20 customers who make a purchase at Slow House, making it a fun, interactive experience that adds a personal touch to your Eco Loop Store visit.

The Heart of Sustainability

The Eco Loop Store is part of ACTUS's commitment to a sustainable future. The initiative emphasizes the principles of reuse, reduction, and recycling, reflecting a lifestyle that values quality craftsmanship and enduring design. By reviving and repurposing items that would otherwise be discarded, ACTUS is cultivating a culture of sustainability while also providing you with the opportunity to find unique treasures.

The Eco Loop Store takes place for the fourth consecutive year at the Slow House, hoping to connect all attendees with their own ‘treasures’ – that special item waiting to be discovered. The event will be open daily from 11 AM to 7 PM, welcoming locals and visitors alike to join in this sustainable celebration of design.
