Celebrating Our Beloved Pets: The Results of the 3rd Letter Contest

On May 22, the premium dog food maker POCHI, operated by Marketing Partner Co., Ltd., proudly announced the winners of its 3rd Letter Contest. This year's theme, "If Only You Could Talk..." remarkably stirred the hearts of the participants, who crafted touching letters reflecting memories and gratitude for their cherished dogs. Over 600 heartfelt letters were submitted, demonstrating the deep bond shared between pets and their owners.

Grand Prize Winner

The coveted grand prize went to MIHO, a resident of Tochigi prefecture, for her heartfelt letter addressed to her six-year-old dog, Spartha. It encapsulated her love and the special memories they have shared.

Special Jury Comment

The jury highlighted a poignant sentiment in MIHO's letter: the desire to know more about Spartha’s mother, thus illustrating the warmth and depth of a pet owner's feelings. The judge also remarked on the thoughtfulness of wanting to hear stories about Spartha's late father, emphasizing the unspoken connection between a pet and its owner.

Prize Details:

MIHO received a custom illustration of her beloved dog and a special "Snack Box" from POCHI, set to be delivered between July and August 2023.

Silver Prize Winner

Next, the silver prize was awarded to Shinomiya from Kanagawa prefecture for a touching letter to her 17-year-old miniature dachshund, Chocola. The letter reflected her understanding that their time together is precious.

Special Jury Comment

The jury noted the profound question Shinomiya posed to Chocola: “Are you happy here with us?” This displayed the owner’s love and concern for Chocola's well-being.

Shinomiya also received a unique plush representation of Chocola and the POCHI Snack Box.

Bronze Prize Winners

The contest also recognized two bronze prize winners, both conveying deep emotional connections with their pets:

• - Toto from Osaka wrote a moving letter to Dobby, a 15-year-old Papillon, expressing a desire to share in his joys and pains.
• - Exclusive Cushion from Kanagawa penned a letter to Anzu, a 14-year-old toy poodle, sharing relatable thoughts on the special bond between pets and their owners.

Both winners received a custom cushion of their respective dogs along with the Snack Box.

Lastly, a special prize was given to Kotomi from Kumamoto for a heartfelt letter to her 7-year-old mixed breed, Shintaro. Her poignant thoughts highlighted the emotional connections we form with our pets.
