Indulge in a Unique Tea and Cherry Afternoon Delight at Tokyo Eastside Hotel Kaie

Experience the Perfect Blend of Flavors

The Tokyo Eastside Hotel Kaie, located in the bustling district of Shiomi, will unveil its much-anticipated Tea & Cherry Afternoon Tea from May 1 to June 30, 2026. This delightful event will take place at the All All Café & Bar on the first floor, and promises to be a highlight for food lovers this early summer.

Every year, the hotel curates a unique afternoon tea service focusing on tea, and for 2026, the spotlight is on the harmonious combination of tea and cherries. In collaboration with Ake Kure, the renowned Japanese restaurant on the 9th floor, this event marries Eastern and Western culinary traditions to create a sophisticated experience, reflective of the rich flavors.

Exquisite Menu Selections

Top Tier: Sweet Temptations

The sweets featured in this afternoon tea selection are designed to bring out the distinct flavors of both tea and cherries. A beautiful balance of sweet and tart profiles, our offerings include:
  • - Cherry Verrine: A delicate dessert layered with cherry flavors.
  • - Sour Cherry Cake: Each slice bursting with the essence of fresh sour cherries.
  • - Sweet Cherry Pie: Golden flaky pastry that perfectly complements the sweetness of the cherries.

One of the standout items is the Rooibos Tea Pudding, which is creamy and smooth, highlighting the caffeine-free and gentle aroma of Rooibos. The Uji Matcha Mousse provides a harmonious taste with its subtle earthy notes. Lastly, the Tea Cookie Sandwich features a crunchy texture, elevating the aromatic experience.

Middle Tier: Savory Delights

To balance out the sweetness, savory bites inspired by Japanese cuisine will also be served. These selections will ensure satisfaction beyond just desserts:
  • - Salmon and Cherry Nanbanzuke: A refreshing and tangy dish that combines umami with a cherry twist.
  • - Cherry Caprese: A playful yet elegant interpretation of the classic Italian salad, featuring cherries.
  • - Sukiyaki Burger: A uniquely crafted burger that merges Japanese flavors with a western staple.

The accompanying Tea Scones, served with clotted cream and cherry jam, will add a traditional touch, allowing guests to experience a delightful flavor variety.

A Signature Dessert: Bi-Ri Anmitsu Parfait

A highlight of this afternoon tea is the Bi-Ri Anmitsu Parfait, envisaged by Chef Ishiyama Norihiro of Ake Kure, who holds a qualification in medicinal cuisine. This dish integrates the principles of Japanese aesthetics with herbal knowledge, creating a dish that is both beautiful and beneficial, using ingredients like:
  • - Green Plums: Renowned for their detoxifying properties.
  • - Tea Syrup: Infusing the dessert with sweetness and depth.
  • - Dried Tangerine Peel and Goji Berries: Enhancing color and health benefits.
  • - Each ingredient is curated to alleviate fatigue and seasonal discomfort, while its exquisite presentation embodies the elegance of Japanese cuisine through meticulously sized bites.

A Drink to Accompany

Guests can enjoy a refreshing Earl Grey & Cherry Frappe alongside various teas and coffees from TWG Tea, adding to the luxurious experience.
