Renaissance Company and Osaka Sayama City Collaborate for Disaster Response Facilities and Exercise Support

Renaissance Company Collaborates with Osaka Sayama City

In a significant step towards enhancing community resilience, Renaissance Company, led by CEO Misa Mochizuki, has entered into an agreement with Osaka Sayama City focusing on the utilization of facilities during disasters and providing exercise support at evacuation sites. This collaborative effort aims to strengthen support for local residents not just during emergencies but also in regular times, thus reinforcing community ties.

Background of the Initiative

Renaissance operates the "Sports Club & Sauna Renaissance Sayama 24" located in Higashi-Jujigane, approximately a 12-minute drive from the Osaka Sayama City Hall. The facility, situated along National Route 310, features a gym, studio, pool, and sauna, catering to a wide audience. The region has previously faced challenges like overcrowding in temporary shelters during large-scale disasters and maintaining the health of residents when faced with prolonged evacuation scenarios.

Recognizing these issues, Renaissance Sayama’s two-story facility, equipped with over 110 parking spaces, is poised to play a critical role in disaster response efforts. The establishment of this agreement underscores Renaissance's commitment to enhancing evacuation environments within Osaka Sayama City, ensuring that community members receive the support they need in times of crisis.

Renaissance Sayama: A Hub for Community Solutions

For over 34 years, including its predecessor facilities, Renaissance Sayama has been a key player in promoting health across various age groups in the local community. With this new partnership, Renaissance plans to engage in ongoing discussions with Osaka Sayama City officials. This engagement will allow the facility to open parts of its premises as temporary evacuation sites during disasters, while also offering exercise support for evacuees to help maintain their physical well-being.

Additionally, Renaissance aims to tackle other community challenges by collaborating with local authorities, striving to become an essential resource for residents and fostering 'a sense of purpose' among individuals. This commitment reflects Renaissance’s vision of health sustainability and community enrichment in Osaka Sayama.

Details of the Agreement and Specific Efforts

The agreement encompasses several proactive measures:
  • - Providing temporary facilities as emergency evacuation sites when disasters occur or are anticipated.
  • - Offering temporary shower facilities to improve hygiene conditions for evacuees.
  • - Implementing exercise support to prevent physical health declines among long-term evacuees.
  • - Conducting regular community disaster prevention events to raise awareness and promote preparedness.

By addressing these critical areas, Renaissance and Osaka Sayama City are working together to cultivate a community that is better prepared for emergencies while fostering health and wellness among its residents.
