Tokyo-NbS Action Award 2025
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government is excited to announce the winners of the second annual
Tokyo-NbS Action Award, aimed at recognizing transformative initiatives that utilize Nature-based Solutions (NbS) to address environmental challenges. In March 2023, under the revised
Tokyo Biodiversity Regional Strategy, the city started promoting projects that utilize nature for problem-solving, striving to deepen awareness and encourage participation among various stakeholders.
The award, which honors organizations pioneering in the field of NbS, aims to contribute significantly towards achieving biodiversity targets by 2030. In its inaugural year, three exemplary projects were acknowledged, setting the stage for the subsequent awards.
For the 2025 award, divisions based on the scale of operation were established, resulting in a robust participation with
52 submissions received from various organizations. After thorough evaluation by experts, four outstanding projects have been selected for awards, showcasing diverse and innovative approaches aligned with NbS.
