LIMPID Corp Secures New Funding for Kinfora
LIMPID Corp., an innovative company specializing in AI-driven pet healthcare, has recently been selected for Korea's prestigious Deep-Tech TIPS program, managed by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. This selection marks a significant achievement, as it secures a grant of KRW 1.5 billion (approximately USD 1.1 million) over a span of three years, extending until June 2029. This latest funding is intended to enhance the research and development efforts behind Kinfora, LIMPID's digital healthcare platform designed to support pet owners in monitoring their pets' well-being.
With this new funding, LIMPID has successfully increased the total backing for Kinfora to KRW 8.3 billion (around USD 6.0 million), combining resources from both governmental and national programs aimed at advancing companion-animal healthcare. The TIPS program is particularly compelling as it aligns government support with private endorsements, a process that requires recommendations from accredited venture operators. LIMPID received its backing from The Invention Lab, an established venture capital firm, after successfully completing its first TIPS program with a commendable rating.
The primary goal of this initiative is to develop advanced behavioral biomarkers utilizing video and AI technologies. By analyzing pet behaviors with the help of LIMPID's proprietary GPU infrastructure, the project aims to launch Kinfora as the first commercial application of these innovations. This program runs alongside the Companion Animal Intractable Disease Technology Development Program, which is the largest R&D initiative in South Korea's pet healthcare sector, worth KRW 6.8 billion (around USD 4.9 million). LIMPID is collaborating with notable institutions such as Sookmyung Women’s University College of Engineering and Kyungpook National University.
These combined efforts will transition behavioral data captured through video, audio, imagery, dietary habits, and medical histories into digital biomarkers. Such data will enable the detection of early signs of chronic conditions in pets, such as kidney disease and pancreatitis, long before symptoms become visible.
Heesu Kim, CEO of LIMPID and a qualified veterinarian, highlighted the importance of this recognition from both the government and investors, calling it a substantial validation of LIMPID's approach. "Both programs are based on the same principle that Kinfora is built around: detect, alert, respond, and repeat. The camera in your home is transforming into the first point of care, while food acts as the initial response to any issues identified," he stated.
This funding comes at a pivotal moment for LIMPID, marking a period of significant growth. The company reported a staggering revenue increase of 390 percent in 2025, alongside the acquisition of PetPeotalk, a vision-AI subsidiary, in June. The launch of Kinfora in July, supported by over 350 million pet behavior video records, showcases LIMPID's commitment to revolutionizing pet healthcare through technology.
Founded in 2020 by a team of veterinarians and technology entrepreneurs, LIMPID is gearing up to further solidify its position in the pet healthcare landscape. With a stack of innovative offerings—including Korea's top pet nutrition app Saladpet and the world's first freeze-dried veterinary therapeutic diets—LIMPID is poised to lead the charge in the intersection of technology and animal healthcare.
