This initiative will benefit approximately 50,000 employees of the National Tax Agency and its 12 regional tax offices across Japan.

The Telework Supporter system is designed to utilize advanced facial recognition technology to authenticate employees, ensuring that sensitive information remains secure from unauthorized access. In light of increasing risks associated with remote work, especially concerning confidential data handling, this initiative aims to streamline operations while bolstering security.

Data regarding employee presence or absence, as well as any incidents of unauthorized access, are transmitted in real-time to a secure cloud server. This information can then be accessed via web API by the National Tax Agency’s operational systems, allowing for automated online authentication.

In cases of detected unauthorized access, the system is equipped with features to automatically lock the PC, thus minimizing the risk of information leakage and ensuring a safe remote work environment.
